Preparatory Regional Expert Meeting: Third Regional Review
of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing
Bangkok, 14-15 June 2017
Meeting Objectives
• To review and exchange good practices and experiences in implementation of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing;
• To identify priority areas in further implementation of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing for the Asia-Pacific region –to be presented at the Intergovernmental Meeting for the Regional Review of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (12-14 September 2017)
Background and activities so far
ECOSOC Resolution 2015/5, giving a mandate to regional commissions to provide regional inputs to the global review of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing
ESCAP conducted a survey to member States to assess progress in implementation of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing – analysis will be made available during the Intergovernmental Meeting for the Review of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing, 12-14 September 2017
Regional Expert Forum for Integrated Care of Older Persons, 17-18 March, Nanjing, China – received expert inputs to the draft outcome document
