At Kuyper Christian School all uniform is compulsory. If it is temporarily impossible for a student to wear the correct uniform, the student’s parent or carer needs to send a note to the Office. If a student is wearing non-uniform items, without a note from parents, a Uniform Infringement will be recorded. Repeated infringements for Secondary students will result in the student incurring a detention. All uniform must be purchased from The Kuyper Christian School Uniform Shop, which is not- for-profit. During school terms, the Uniform Shop is open on Fridays from 8:15 am. The Uniform Shop is also open during Curriculum Week in January and July. On all other days, uniform can be ordered at the Office, or via email or telephone. We will contact you when your order is available. Hats, caps, library bags, bibles, calculators and replacement school diaries can be purchased from the Office on any school day, or any day during Curriculum Week. The uniform price list and order form are available from the Office or on our website. Payment for uniform must be made before collection via cash, cheque, or EFT. Uniform cannot go on your school account. Faulty uniform can be returned within 14 days for a free replacement. Items can be exchanged or returned for a refund if the tags are attached. The only items that cannot be purchased at the Uniform Shop or Office are shoes and sport socks. Students are expected to dress according to the school Values and Policies. All uniform items must be clean, fit appropriately and be in good repair. Dresses and skirts must finish below the knee when standing. Shorts must fit the body loosely. The school jumper is the first item to be worn for cold weather with the regular uniform. The school jumper is only to be worn under the sport jacket for extra warmth if necessary. The school scarf , school beanie and school jacket may be worn if necessary. School hats, caps, beanies, scarves and the black jacket may only be worn outside the buildings. The girls’ trousers and blouse may only be worn during Term 2 & 3. You must place a special order with the Uniform Shop if you wish to purchase them. There are limited sizes. School shoes must be made of black leather and cover the entire foot. Secondary and Senior students may not wear boots. Primary girls may wear shoes that expose a small amount of the foot but completely cover the toes. Primary students may also wear boots. Due to WH & S, Secondary and Senior students must wear leather shoes that completely cover the foot, but not the ankle. Sport shoes must be designed for running or cross training only. Lifestyle or sport specific shoes are not acceptable. Sport socks must be plain white (no logo), ankle length and clearly visible. Sport uniform may be worn to school when sport, PDHPE or PASS is timetabled. Hair must be clean, neat and of a natural colour. Hair below the shoulders must be tied back. Hair accessories must be in the school colours, i.e. bottle green, navy blue, black, white. Kuyper Christian School has a “No Hat, No Play” policy for all outdoor activities. Students must have their hat (or cap for Secondary) with them every day of the school year. One small necklace and pendant is allowed, including medical tags, along with one small pair of earrings (sleepers or studs), one small ring and one small bracelet. All other forms of jewelry are not permitted. Students are required to remove their jewelry if requested by a member of staff for a particular activity.
