Alliance Innovative achieved ISO9001 and AS9100B certications in 2007, the highest quality and efciency certications in the manufacturing industry. Certication was granted after 10 months, less than half the 18-24 months it normally takes to establish an operational quality management system and achieve both certications simultaneously. The fast accomplishment was particularly noteworthy considering it occured at the same time as a corporate acquisition, Lean Manufacturing consultation, and relocation to a new facility, all of which kept the company moving at a frenetic pace. In 2010 Alliance Innovative revised its Quality Management system to be in compliance with AS9100 Revision C. The company received certication to the new AS9100 revision at the close of 2011. A+QUALITY AS9100 CERTIFIED ISO9001 Any vendor who has a negative attitude toward continual improvement will eventually discover that they are no longer competent, competitive, or qualied to be serving you. We understand that your priority is to get the best price, but it does not have to be at the expense of quality. Continual improvement agendas are aimed at reaching near- perfect efciency, so the vendor focused on long- term continual improvement will be the vendor who can most consistently save your company money while also keeping the engineering and quality control staff satised. Alliance Innovative achieves ISO9001 and AS9100 certication simultaneously 2012 Alliance Innovative makes $2.3m in equipment and infrastructure upgrades in Capital Investment Phase 2; enters large part machining market 1945 FP PLA Tool founded by Spanish immigrant Ferdinand Pla 2006 Richard St. John named President of FP PLA Tool 1982 FP PLA Tool names Richard St. John partner 1975 Richard St. John joins FP PLA Tool as a machinist 1973 FP PLA Tool purchased by Bob Dewey and Bernie Pruchniewski 1998 East Coast Tool Relocates to a 5,000 sq. ft. facility in Orchard Park, NY 2014 Alliance Innovative begins Capital Investment Phase 3 expanding the large part machining division. The project includes $2.1m in equipment additions and upgrades. CORPORATE HISTORY Alliance Innovative began as FP PLA Tool & Manufacturing in 1945, when Spanish immigrant Ferdinand Pedro Pla opened a small machine shop in Buffalo, New York. Pla relieved ownership of the company in 1973 but the name was retained by new owners Bernie Pruchniewski and Robert Dewey. The two held ownership of the company until 2007, and retired in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Company President Richard St. John joined FP PLA in 1975 as a machinist, and became a full partner in 1982. St. John started East Coast Tool, a cutting tool services rm, in 1992. He had been President of East Coast Tool since its inception and sole owner since 2005, and the sole owner of FP PLA since the beginning of 2007. FP PLA named St. John president in 2006 in preparation for his takeover of FP PLA. FP PLATool and East Coast Tool were acquired in 2007 by the newly created Alliance Innovative Manufacturing. The rejoining of the companies under one roof in 2008 brought the companies full circle, as East Coast Tool was started as a side project in the back corner of the production oor at FP PLA, and quickly grew to need its own 5,000 sq. ft. Orchard Park, NY facility in 1998. Nearly ten years after East Coast Tool moved out on its own, the company rejoined FP PLA as an equal partner in Alliance Innovative. The creation of Alliance Innovative was a logical step in the companys aggressivegrowthinitiative. Thename Alliance Innovative Manufacturing was chosen to reect both companies long-held focus on creating signicant long-termpartnershipswithcustomers and suppliers, and continually nding fresh solutions to production, quality, and efciency. The names FP PLA and East Coast Tool were retired at the end of 2008 when the company was condent that all stakeholders were familiar with the new corporate identity. It didnt take long to settle on the name since it was instantly recognized that this particular combination of words represented our mission as a company. -Richard St. John President 6.
