IDRF Programs.
In times of natural disasters or wars, IDRF assists with relief aid and rehabilitation projects (eg. food, clothing, shelter, trauma counselling, medical assisstance, etc.)
In regions of grave poverty where illiteracy and preventable diseases are rampant, IDRF helps carry out development projects (eg. primary education, basic health care, sanitation, wells, modest opportunities for income generation through micro-credit programs, etc.)

Access to safe water islinked to food security,health and hygiene.
Unsafe water contributes tothe spread of cholera,dysentery, malaria, typhoid and diarrhea.
Over the past 15 years,IDRF has dug over 100 water wells in Africa & South Asia and provided clean water through water points and water tanks.
IN PAKISTAN:
IDRF will build wells for families in their homes (in Sindh, Pakistan)

Pakistanis becomevictims of waterbornediseases every year from which1.2 million die. Almost half a million are children under five years of age.

IN GAZA:
IDRF will distribute clean water through trucks to serve schools
Lack of access to enoughclean water in Gaza meansthat the people are continuouslyfacing serious health andsanitation risks while the havoc ofwar continues in the region.
Cost of water for schools: $20 (One student`s water for 1
year). $250 (One school`s water for 1
month) $3000 (One school`s water for
1 year)(Approx 150 children plus 20 teachers
in each school)
IN TANZANIA:
IDRF will build community wells to serve 50 families
75% of the populationresides in the ruralareas out of whichonly 40% has accessto safe water.
Cost of community well:
$12,000
(Approx 450-600 people)
Zakat & Fitrah donations: 0% (Zakat & Fitrah collections are strictly recorded under an exclusive account
called ‘Zakat Funds’ and disbursed without any admin deduction costs)
General/other donations: 7.5% - 12% (The final admin-fee deduction depends on the complexity of the project and
the region where the project is being implemented but it falls within the projected range given)
