Project Safety - is the primary responsibility of all management and supervisory personnel.

Project Directors and Construction Managers – have the overall responsibility for the health, safety and environment at site.

The Safety Manager - monitors all safety activities at the job sites and reports his findings to top management through the Site Manager.

The Safety Manager - administers the emergency response program and ensure orderly organize rescue, evacuation and medical operations.

The Project Safety Program - is administered in accordance with OSHA regulations for construction (CFR 1926), KSA national safety and environmental laws, regulations and code, as well as employer’s safety rules.

All employees - have the responsibility to perform their duties in a manner which ensures their own safety and that of others and must comply with all safety rules and procedure.

All employees - has the authority to shut-down an imminent dangerous situation which could cause injury to anyone.

All employees - will attend a site-specific orientation prior to the start of work or as required by the consortium when there is a change in the construction phase and/or during pre- commissioning and start-up.

Toolbox meetings - will be held daily by all supervisors as a coaching tool to motivate employees to work safely and discuss HSE related matters to co-workers. Specific Technical Trainings.

LIFTING AND RIGGING SAFETY

• Respect warning barriers and signs while the lifting operation is on going.

• Nobody is allowed to position themselves beside the crane, under the load or boom and even entering the operators cabin while lifting is on going.

• Resting or sheltering under or beside a standby lifting equipment is strictly prohibited.

WORKING AT HEIGHTS SAFETY

• Always use full body harness while working above 1.8 meters.

• Respect warning barriers and signs while working at height is on progress.

• Remember falling materials or structural collapse may happen anytime.

• Permit or clearance before start of excavation.

• Presence of existing live structures and energized electrical installation underground.

• Confined Space procedure will be in effect at more than 1.5 meters depth.

• Observe Heavy Equipment safe distance from edge of an excavation.

• No workers allowed within the travel distance of the excavator bucket while excavation going on.

• Standby man is always required in a deep excavation activities.

HEAVY EQUIPMENT SAFETY

• Certified and Licensed operators only allowed.

• Workers are not allowed to rest, shelter underneath or beside a mobile equipment at any time.

• Travelling Heavy Equipment shall be equipped with warning devices and flagman/spotter.

• Never leave the engine running unattended.

HOT WORK SAFETY

• Obtain Hot Work permit.

• Hot Work activities should only be done by a qualified skilled workers.

• Smoking, welding, cutting, brazing and any other open flame activities shall be identified.

• Workers are not allowed to rest, shelter inside a welding shield.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

Report immediately any electrical problem that may happen at jobsite or camp area.

Do not attempt to plug numerous tools or appliances in one electrical outlet . (One gadget one outlet rule).

Switch off all machines and appliances before leaving the jobsite or living room.

Any electrical wiring connections shall be treated as energized. Call an electrician.

Unauthorized switching on any electrically operated machines and tools are prohibited.

Unwind and lay out properly electrical cables and extension cords.

POWER TOOLS SAFETY

Maximum of 110 V power tools required.

All power hand tools shall be equipped with safety protection devices.

No worker is allowed to operate at wet or rainy condition.

Unauthorized use of these tools are strictly prohibited.

COMPRESSED GASES SAFETY

Safe handling and storage shall be required.

Never crane-lift the gas cylinders without a certified basket.

Never roll or use a loader, excavator or pork lift to transport the gas cylinders.

Maintain a safe distance from any hot work activities.

Never drag, bump, strike gas cylinders nor expose to oils and energized cables.

Remember always that gas cylinders are explosives when not handled properly.

Always secure compressor hoses with locking pin and anti-whip safety devices.

Never use compressed air to clean dust from your body.

Only purified compressed air (Type D) is allowed for self contained breathing purposes.

First Responder: Remain Calm Call for HELP (Shout! Raise the Alarm!) Call Fire Emergency Telephone Number. Immediately extinguish the fire if you are trained at

incipient stage . Evacuate if unsafe condition occur.

INSECT BITES AND SNAKES

Scorpion sting and snake bite are immediately dangerous to life.

When emergency occur apply pressure near the infected area blocking the venom to flow directly with the blood stream.

Immediately call for help and proceed to nearest clinic.
