What is the difference between a Passive Stylus and an Active Stylus?

Touchscreens register a “touch” from a finger when a 5mm diameter radius is touched. Anything smaller is ignored by the tablets software and not considered a touch.

Passive styluses act just like a finger by having a conductive tip with a diameter of 5mm or more.
