• Vladimir was in art schoolby age seven.

• His Father bought himbooks that were sometimes

banned, to help with hisartistic ways.

• At art school the first halfwas school and the secondhalf was all art.

• The art portion of schoolwent to 9 p.m.

• Influenced by Monet,Botticelli, Bosch, VanGough, Schinkel, Dali,Vermeer.

• He opened two Artgalleries. One in Lagunabeach California and theother in Lahaina, Hawaii.

• Vladimir also makes

sculptors besides painting.• He prefers his art work be

called metaphoricalrealism rather thansurrealism.

Kush was strongly influenced by his

father who was a mathematician. HisFather believed that his son’s realisticpaintings show the artist’s professionalskill and drew the audience in a way sothat they could accept the impossibleimages painted as realistic enough to see

the metaphors contained in them andexplore the different levels of meaning.

Why I Chose My Artist

I chose my artist because I likedSurrealism. When I searched Surrealism

paintings a lot of the ones I liked were by

Vladimir Kush.




Characteristics

� Lots of insects, nature scenes, and people.

� Uses other (smaller) objects in place of objects.

� Flowers, Dragonflies, and Butterflies are in a lot ofhis works.

� He is very imaginative.

� A lot of his works have metaphors in them.

� Myth, metaphor, and poetry combine.
