(1) After installation of the app, the screen will be as shown below:

The app will ask for beat selection after opening of the app. If the device is already registered, beat data

will be shown.

If the device is not registered, the device needs to be registered in PMA website. Up to Android Version

9.0, please register with IMEI number. IMEI number will be available in beat settings( Fig3). Please

register IMEI number in PMA website

From Android Version 10, Please register with Android ID. Android ID will be available in beat

settings.(Fig4) Please register Android ID in PMA website.

For Scale Fusion Devices, existing app will be uninstalled and updated version of the app will

be installed. You may have to register again if beat details are not available in beat settings

screen.

Please note that without registration, scan & deliver option will not work.

(2) Select "Scan & Deliver" option in Home Screen for delivering articles. Clicking on "Scan &

Deliver" will open barcode scanner. Successfully scanning an article will show a screen where

user can click "Next" for scanning bulk articles or click "Take Returns" for taking returns.

Instead of using scanner, user can click on "Data Entry" option available at the bottom of the screen to

enter article numbers manually. Clicking on "List" will show articles scanned in bulk . "Take Returns"

option after clicking List will allow taking returns in bulk.

After clicking "Take Returns" a screen as shown in Fig10 will be shown. User to select status of the

article as Delivered or UnDelivered. If it is undelivered, user to provide undelivered remarks. After

selecting remark click on "Done" button to update status of article.

If user comes out of this screen without clicking "Done" button , Returns of such article(s) can be taken

by clicking "Returns not Taken" option available in home page. Clicking "Returns not Taken" will show

articles for which returns are not updated. User has option to take returns or delete the article by

clicking concerned icon available for each article.(Fig11)

Status of articles can be checked by clicking "Delivery Abstract " option in home page. Current date

abstract will be shown by default. User has option to check previous day's report by selecting Date.

It is recommended to enable the background activity (as shown in Fig: 13) for the data to

reach server even when app is closed. It can be enabled as

Postman AppInfo->Battery usage/Battery optimization/Battery-> Enable Background Activity

“Articles Synced” and “Articles Not Synced” can be checked from respective widgets in the home screen

The delivery slip can be generated by selecting Delivery Slip icon on the home screen. User can share the

slip by clicking share button. The procedure to share the slip can be found at the end of the document.

This procedure is designed as MDM restricts sharing through whatsapp, email etc.

Pickup

Clicking on “Scan & Pickup” option in Home Page will show barcode scanner. User can scan articles to be

picked up using barcode scanner. If the data is received from server, other details like article type, article

weight, sender name will be populated.

Clicking “Next” button will allow scanning bulk articles for pickup and clicking “Pickup Article” will allow

picking up a single article. User can view articles scanned in bulk by clicking “list” at the bottom of the

screen.

In case user needs to pickup articles which are not received from server, he/she can click on “Data

Entry” button at the bottom of the screen.

Clicking on “PICKUP” article will show screen shown below. User has option to select “Pickedup” or “Not

Pickedup” . After selecting user needs to click on “Done” button to update details.

The details of articles received for pickup/pickedup manually can be viewed in the “Pickup Abstract

Report” module. PDF also can be generated for the respective date selected in Abstract Date.

Scan & Clear

The letter boxes cleared can be updated using “Scan & Clear LB” module by selecting the Data Entry

option or by scanning the Letter Box barcode. The GPS coordinates, Employee ID, Date will be

automatically fetched. The user has to update the Article count (The articles cleared from the respective

letter box).

The Letterboxes cleared(based on date) can be viewed using LB Clearance Report screen available. A

PDF can also be generated for the respective dates.

Configuration Settings

Based on configuration of the mobile, user can select different type of barcode patterns to scan the

barcode from settings options available in side bar of the app.

The Delivery articles, pickup articles, LB clearance data for a particular date can be deleted using

Database Management screen available in side bar of the app.

Alternately, the data can also be deleted automatically after 7 days without user intervention by

following the steps shown below:

Open Settings Screen, available in the left side of the app and the screen will be displayed as

shown in Fig:3.

Enable “Auto Clean Files” option by clicking on the checkbox(square box) provided. A popup will

be displayed as shown in Fig.4 specifying that all the data older than 7 days will be deleted

automatically.

Procedure to Sharing Files:

Prerequisites:

Postman Mobile should be connected to a WI-FI network.

Laptop/Mobile/Desktop should be connected to the same WI-FI network (the network to which

the Postman mobile is connected).

Inside Developer’s Log Screen, ‘File Share’ option is available as shown in the attachment (Fig:

FileShare(a)).

On Clicking FileShare, the screen shown in FileShare(b) is opened with the following options:

1)Connect to WIFI network (Opens WI-FI settings page).

2) Start sharing(Enables file sharing option and the Browser URL is shown in the text box available).

On clicking the “Connect to WIFI network” button, the screen as shown in Fig: Fileshare(c) gets opened.

Connect to the desired network(both Postman mobile and the device to which the files needed to be

downloaded).

If the device is not connected to a WIFI network, the file sharing is not possible and pops a notification

as “Connect to a WIFI network”(as displayed in Fig: FIleshare(d)).

After connecting to a WIFI network, click “Start Sharing” button, the URL to which the

Laptop/Mobile/Desktop needs to be connected will be displayed as “192.x.x.x:xxxx” in the texbox

provided as shown in Fig: Fileshare(e).

Ensure both the postman mobile and the device to which files are to be downloaded are on the same

WIFI connection.

Open a browser on the Laptop/Mobile and enter the address displayed in

BrowserURLtextbox(192.x.x.x.:xxxx).

In this case scenario, the Browser URL is 192.168.137.85:8080.

Enter the URL(192.x.x.x:xxxx) in the searchpage of the browser. A webpage will be displayed as shown in

Fig: Fileshare(f).

There are four options to select:

1) Screenshots

2) Logs

3) Reports

4) Exports

Logs: Logs folder contains the developer log generated for particular date.

Reports: Reports folders contains the PDFs generated in the delivery, pickup abstract and LB Clearance

report.

Exports: Exports folder contains the Developer logs and Database in ZIP format. (These can be shared if

any issue arise in the working of Postman app).

As shown in Fig: Fileshare(h), to save the file ,Rightclick the mouse button and select “Save File As”

option to save the file.

On selecting “Save File As”, the screen as shown in Fig: Fileshare(k) will be shown asking for the location

of saving the file. The required files can be downloaded from the Postman Mobile and saved for sharing

to analyse/resolve the issues arising in the working of Postman Application.
