Poster Resources Here at Undergraduate Research Programs, we know just how daunting creating your research poster can be. We want to provide you with as much assistance and inspiration as possible! This document contains helpful tips, links, and templates that will guide you through the poster building process. Getting your poster right is vital, especially since you only have a single free print through our program. Our first piece of advice is to start early! Your poster is the culmination of your research project, so we want it to reflect all your hard work and important discoveries. Additionally, confer with your faculty mentor often! This is important firstly because you cannot submit your poster without the approval of your faculty mentor. Besides providing approval, your mentor will likely be a great resource for knowing exactly how posters within your discipline should look. Rely on their experience and advice! We suggest that you prepare your poster in PowerPoint. The first thing you should do is input the correct dimensions and set the orientation to landscape. Save your poster and name it according to the directions listed in the EC Printing Information document. Please review this document before you submit your poster, take special care to follow the checklist provided on page 5. Poster files, including any special instructions, should be sent to: [email protected]. Step 1: Start earlier than you think you need to! Remember: Unless you are a graphic artist, a good poster will take at least a week to put together. Step 2: You should save your file as a PDF and include your name in the title of your document. Step 3: Read the Emory College Poster Guidelines document carefully; keep it as a reference guide when you are creating your poster. You must follow these guidelines otherwise your poster will not print well or possibly be ineligible for EC printing.
