Recommended length of post-surgical feeding is 7 days. It is important for early nutritional support to provide energy and protein to promote recovery.2 Some pets may benefit from splitting the amount per day into multiple, smaller meals.1. Reference back page for number of cans to feed based on patient’s weight2. Corbee RJ, Van Kerkhoven, WJ: Nutritional Support of Dogs and Cats after Surgery or Illness Journal of Veterinary Medicine, 2014, 4, 44-57.

Send post-surgical patients home with the Digestive Care nutrition to help support a healthy recovery.

Food is love. Sometimes during recovery, pets may not feel like eating

their usual way. Follow your vet's recommendation. Here are a few tips

help them eat and get them on their four paws quickly:

• Offer the food by hand initially – your pet will appreciate your affection

• Warm the food to body temperature – but no hotter – before offering it to your pet

• If your pet refuses to eat for more than 24 hours, contact your vet clinic

• Water is as important as food. Make sure that fresh water is always available.
