The 2nd International Energy, Gas, Oil and Power Exhibition and Conference – EGO Pakistan 2013 was inaugurated by Mr. Sher Ali Khan, Provincial Minister of Energy along with Mr. Azhar Saeed Butt, Zonal Chairman FPCCI and Mr. Saleem Khan Tanoli, C.E.O. FAKT Exhibitions (PVT) Ltd.

While addressing the media Mr. Sher Ali Khan said, “We believe that nothing is more important than solution to the energy crisis.” At a time when Pakistan is facing severe energy crisis Mr. Sher Ali termed EGO Pakistan necessary for the provision of basic facilities to the public with better planning. “I am pleased to observe the local and international participation of companies in this sector with growing interest of renewable energy where Pakistan shares the ideal resources for alternative power generation.”

Mr. Azhar Saeed Butt during his visit observed that such events are crucial for the growth of industry and provide an opportunity for people to learn about new developments in industry. Mr. Saleem Khan Tanoli, C.E.O. FAKT Exhibitions (PVT) Ltd., also added, “We have made EGO Pakistan as one occasion for energy development and sustainable renewable energy production in Pakistan. The renewable power potential can be the main reason of progress of several other industries in the country. EGO Pakistan has established its name as a significant show of the relevant industries.”

On the second day of EGO Pakistan 2013 - Internatinal Energy, Gas, Oil and Power Exhibition a full Day conference was held at Expo Centre Lahore. The conference attracted industry experts eager to learn and discuss about the latest industrial trends, developments and concerns.

Chief Guest Mr. Li Minghui, President of BHEC China in his welcome address mentioned that the two countries Pakistan and China share a special bond and they therefore look forward to collaborate with them for projects. Mr. Wang Chenghui the Director of BHEC China gave a presentation on CWS- New Substitute Fuel of Oil and Gas.

Dr. Saqib Nasir, Sr. Scientific Officer from PCSIR discussed his research on Optimization of local coal for Industrial Gasifiers. The high content of ash and sulphur in local coal is a major concern these days for local industry; therefore this topic attracted a lot of attention and questions. Mr. Shahid Noman Afzal, Executive Director OGRA gave a presentation on Pakistan’s Energy Crisis and Role of Other Sources of Energy.

Mr. Robert Christie from Fuelade Solutions-USA spoke on Diesel & Heavy Oil Fuel Catalysts; Savings in Power Generation, Transport, Maritime and Aggregates; his topic attracted interest from the audience who wanted to learn more about this product.

Mr. Imran-Ul-Hassan, Engineering Manager from Hi-Tech Manufacturing (Pvt.) Ltd. gave a presentation on Alternate Energy Solutions and presented different solutions available and their usefulness. Mr. Michael Naseer Angadji, CEO of ITUK Manufacturing Co.-IRAN presented The Benefits of CNG Motorcycles for Environment & CNG Industry. ITUK Manufacturing’s CNG, LPG and LNG kits attracted great attention from audience who wanted to know the dynamics of this innovative product.

Dr. Muhammad Khalid Iqbal, Sr. Scientific Officer from PCSIR elaborated his research on Refused Derived Fuel (RDF). Mrs. Atika Abdul Razzaq, Executive Director from NSR Energies (Pvt.) Ltd. gave a presentation on Utilizing Pakistani Coal for Process and Power Steam. Again coal being an industry hot topic attracted great attention from audience who had a lot questions on this topic. The last presentation was given by Mr. Asif Masood from Pak Oasis who gave a presentation on importance of Solar Energy in Economic Development of Pakistan.

The conference served as a great learning platform, enlightening the audience about industries trends and providing a great networking opportunity.
