INTRODUCTION

Women in India have always been topics of concern since ancient times. They

can be the appropriate example of perfect home-makers. With their incomparable

quality of the calmness of mind they easily handle even toughest situation as well.

The Indian women are completely devoted to their families. They are preached in

the names of Goddess Durga, Goddess Saraswati, Parvati and Goddess Kali.

From an unknown period in Medieval India to the modern times the condition of

women is still the same with a little change. In India, the families are always

`Patriarchal. Women were never given any rights of liberty and equality. The

condition of women was so bad that if she gave birth to a girl child she was treated

in a humiliated manner. Women were not only abstained from being educated but

also were not permitted to step out of the house. They were asked to eat after

their husbands have eaten and in fact were given to eat the leftovers of their

husband`s meal.

Now day’s time has changed, not in cities only but in villages also. The women are

being educated and are given respect and high position in societies. In many places

woman has created their own land mark by showing un- bitable performers in life

and profession. They have balanced their personal life as well as their professional

life. Some families are still introvert and keep woman under their foot. But many

women now are able to convince their families with help of good examples in

society and neighborhood

WHAT I THINK ABOUT

“THE POSITION OF WOMEN IN INDIA”

In today‟s time when we hear about “the position of women in India,” the

first thing that comes in our mind as student in Delhi University is that,

women enjoy „lades first‟ in many please and find them weak and help less

without our govt.

At the time admission in college I found that in Delhi there are more

fanciless for women as they have women‟s couch in metro & seats in buses,

special help line form police & many NGO working for women upliftment

form many cases like education, sex selected abortion, dowry, eve teasing

and many other things. It seems as women in India cannot do anything

without help.

One day on station waiting for train, I purchased a copy of INDIA TODAY

the action heroes, after reading that I got a chance and bought youth special

of INDIA TODAY. That made me understands that women in India are not

weak and can make their own benchmark in world with their „Addiction‟ to

show their tent, ability, courage, strength to show other women new path,

way of living in deferent places and showing them to live on their own. Not

to ask for help for mans to be protected by man.

Well after making this project my view point has changed that they are able

to do all tasks and This are just a sample of woman in Indian to lead are

future.

“IM NOT A PRINCESS, I'M NOT A QUEEN.

I CAN HANDLE THINGS ON MY OWN.”

Says today‟s women
