About the Role The purpose of this position is to train, monitor and support practitioners who work with Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) to ensure they deliver safe, high quality practice. This will entail providing clinical supervision (including e.g., administrative functions, clinical skill training, competency based and constructive feedback on skills, and evaluation of competencies) and may provide training activities, and involves the dissemination of Relationships Australia Queensland (RAQ) values with respect to professional practice and ethics. It is a leadership and developmental position.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision Responsibilities
Provide accountable, competent and effective clinical supervision to clinical employees, particularly for practitioners working with DFV, as outlined in RAQ’s supervision policy and associated procedures.
Supervise new clinical employees or employees new to an RAQ program, particularly the DFV program, through to probationary review and assist them to demonstrate effective evidence-based practice that is client centered and efficient.
In collaboration with the relevant managers, ensure ethical and professional practice compliant with RAQ mission, ethics, policies and procedures
Conduct reviews of the quality of clinical work within all RAQ programs, and in particular in the DFV programs (including observing work and auditing client files).
Provide timely and constructive feedback to supervisees, including strengths and areas to work, and practitioner professional development needs and opportunities.
Fulfil duty of care responsibilities as outlined in RAQ policies and procedures
Promote RAQ’s mission, values and ethics to supervisees and across the organisation generally.
Work collaboratively with the Head of Practice, Team Leaders, Regional Managers, and the Human Resources Team to assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans and engagement with managing unsatisfactory performance processes for clinical employees.
Consultation and Reporting Responsibilities
Communicate regularly and effectively with the Head of Practice, Team Leaders, Regional Managers, the People and Culture Group, and the Client Outcomes and Quality Management Team by maintaining regular reporting, including relating to probation and clinical reviews of supervisees’ practice, clinical employee competencies, compliance, and matters pertaining to concerns of performance.
Attend regular meetings with the team-leaders)/Regional Manager to discuss practitioner competencies and professional development needs.

Employee Learning Responsibilities
As directed by the Head of Practice, and in consultation with the Learning and Development Team, assist with or provide staff training in evidence-based practices (particularly when working with DFV) , taking into consideration adult learning principles
Identify practitioner learning requirements and suggest or provide training to develop practitioner skills and knowledge.
Identify DFV practitioner learning requirements and suggest or provide training to develop practitioner skills and knowledge so that all DFV program staff meet the relevant DFV Professional Practice Standards
Where relevant consult with the supervisee’s Team leader and/or the Head of Practice, and the Learning and Development Team RE: staff learning and development.
Administrative Maintain computer based diary management system to enable effective and informed supervision bookings.
Understand and meet legislative and funding requirements including collecting and recording statistical data relevant to your role, and do so in a timely and accurate manner.
Conduct client file audits and record compliance with client file management procedures.
Where directed assist with the provision of administrative and general office duties.

Be receptive to feedback and apply reflective practice to improve professional development.

About You To be successful in this position you will have:
Required Highly Desired
Qualifications An undergraduate degree in Psychology, Counselling or Social Work or other appropriate Human Services/Social Science/Health/Law
A Graduate Certificate of Social Science (Male Family Violence Group Facilitation) or equivalent qualification
A Masters degree in Psychology, Counselling or Social Work or other appropriate Human Services/Social Science/Health/Law
Formal qualifications in Supervision - Australian Psychology Board STAP qualifications or other supervision training program
Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment

Experience Level 3 Facilitator experience, qualifications and skills as per Standard 2.1 of the Working with men who perpetrate domestic and family violence Professional Practice Standards
Minimum five year’s relevant experience in the human services area (e.g. Psychology, Mediation, Counselling, Social work)
Experience supervising Psychologist, Counsellors, Mediators, Social Worker or other similar Human Service/Social Science/Health , allied health workers
For RAQ applicants: Successful completion of 6 month probation review in at least one RAQ clinical role
Experience in training staff in DFV skills,
Demonstrated experience in engaging proactively with and supporting clients of diverse backgrounds (Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse, low socioeconomic status, people with disabilities and people of diverse bodies, genders and sexualities).
Knowledge Knowledge of the legal, ethical and practice standards environment in which RAQ operates- (e.g. HSQF, ISO 9001: 2015; Family Law Act, Child Protection Act, Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act)
Knowledge of and ability to apply best practice models for clinical supervision
Evidence based knowledge on DFV practice, including DFV prevention and intervention services and their effectiveness
Knowledge of and ability to apply evidence-based practices relevant to RAQ services
Skills
Assessment, evaluation and management of complex cases involving ethical dilemmas and duty of care matters, risk assessment, child safety and domestic and family violence issues
Ability to build and maintain a strong supervisory alliance with all supervisees
Ability to manage gender, cultural and power issues through the supervision process, and ability to give constructive and supportive feedback and challenge when required
