How should the Netherlands treat animals? We think that Holland has to quit factory farming and animal testing. How could the Netherlands improve the education? We think that the government should spend more money on schools, like books: some schools still use very old books (some of them are made in the 80’s). Why should the Netherlands close it’s boarders or why not?We think Holland has to close it’s boarders, because it’s already a multicultural country. If this country doesn’t close them, it will become heavily populated. What do you think about the fact that Holland’s the only country that uses the word ‘allochtoon’?We don’t think this is such a big problem. We don’t always have to be just like other countries. Why should the Netherlands help third world countries? We should help them, because they can’t help their selves. They have the right to live and we have to duty to help them as a social country. How could the Netherlands help third world countries? We should send more money to the poor people in third world countries in stead of sending it to the rich. We also should send more troops to improve the safety of inhabitants.

How long should a parliament last?We think a parliament should last four years, so others have the ability to improve the current politicians. Why should everyone be able to set up a political party or why not?Everyone has to be able to set up a political party, because it has to stay fair for everyone. But these people have to be serious, of course. What do you think about the fact there's a political party just for animals? We think this is a great idea. Too many animals are still suffering, this political party has to stand up for animal rights.Which political subject is the most important and why?We think the environment is the most important subject, because everybody needs a clean and healthy environment to live in.Why do you think democracy’s a better way to control the country than dictature, or why not?We think democracy’s a better way. This is a more fair way. Everyone has the right to vote. Take Hitler or Saddam Hussein for example; they were dictators. Many people got killed by the way they treated people. What do you think about the way our taxes are being spend? We think our taxes should be spend on a better way. Like improving schools, or the environment. The government is spending our taxes by unnecessary subjects (like JSF, Holland has to pay millions of Euro’s ).

On which age do you think people are allowed to vote?We think people are allowed to vote on eighteen. They aren’t ready yet when they’re younger, or they’re busy with other stuff. What do you think about voting by computer? We think this is a great way to vote, the votes are being counted on a fair and easy way.How do you think people from the politics should do their campaign? These people have to visit cities and show their selves on television, this is a good way to do their campaign. Which political person has got the best charisma during the elections and how come?We think Verdonk has the best charisma. She really knows how to reach the people with her opinion.Which factors are influencing your vote?A few factors which are influencing our vote, are: the way a political person does his/her campaign and the viewpoints of this political party.

Elections Back to F >

How can we make sure that there’ll be no prejudices about particular races?A way to do this, is to make sure a human race get acquainted with another so there will be no fear for other races. What do you think about the fact that a part of Turkey is allowed to belong to Europe, but Turkey itself doesn’t belong to the EU?We think this isn’t really fair. If Turkey makes sure that they’ll have the same living customs as the rest of the countries from the EU, we think they’re allowed to belong to the EU. Should Europe close it’s boarders and why (not)? No, we don’t think Europe should close it’s boarders. This continent has countries left with a small population, these countries doesn’t have a overpopulation. What do you think about the fact that some countries in Europe have more voting rights than others? We think this is unfair. Now countries in Europe with a higher population have more voting rights. These countries have a higher influence on business, this isn’t really fair for the countries with a lower population. Do you think that each country in Europe have to pay with the Euro and why (not)? No, we don’t think so. That some countries belong to Europe, doesn’t mean that it’s necessary for them to pay with the Euro. It’s a different ‘membership’. Some countries are members, some aren’t.

H. Which coalition? The coalition that has to be in the government: PvdA, SP, PVDD and GroenLinks. We think this will be a good coalition, because they’re all left political parties. We think, because they’re all left, they’ll be able to cooperate well. We think PVDD and GroenLinks have to be in the coalition, to approve the wellbeing of the environment and animals. PvdA and SP will be working on controlling the people.

Page 16: Portfolio AK Joyce Veld, Roy Hoeymans, Mark Walter, Ana Cooke, and Janno de Jonker. Class: G3B Next >

G. Political party programs.PVDAAbout Holland (d):Fugitives: The PvdA thinks that Holland should take care of political fugitives. Holland should take its share in relief for these people. The PvdA wants to have a strict but equitable fugitives policy.About Europe (e): The cooperation with Europe has meant much for our country. The Netherlands take profit of the cooperation with Europe. The referendum about the European constitution made clear that the Dutch people don’t have faith in the way they control Europe. This means for PvdA that they should have a critical look on Europe to win that trust back. The PvdA don’t want Europe to interfere with everything. Holland just has to stay Holland. It is logical to look for the solutions in Europe when there are cross border problems. For example: the treatment of terrorism, crime and pollution. About the coalition (h): The PvdA wanted to have Groenlinks, SP and itself to be in the coalition. But that isn’t possible, because they haven’t got enough seats in the House of Commons. Anyway, they don’t want to be in the coalition without the SP, because SP is the big winner of the elections.

G. Political party programs.PvdDAbout Holland (d): Yes, they think that the Netherlands should be a little bit his own boss.About Europe (e): No, they think that the Netherlands have to think about theirselves and don’t think the whole time about Europe. They also should vote No if there comes a referendum.About the coalition (h): They prefer a coalition with SP and PvdA but that’s not going to happen. They will be in the opposition.

VVDAbout Holland (d): The VVD thinks we should improve the nature conversation in Holland and we should decrease poverty by working together to help poor people.About Europe (e): The VVD thinks we should increase safety by working together with Europe, for example controlling flights for terrorist. They also think we shouldn’t be too much dependent from Europe.About the coalition (h): The most decent coalition was between CDA, VVD, and D66. VVD now prefers CDA/VVD. VVD leader Mark Rutte doesn’t want a third party. He doesn’t want left parties and he doesn’t see any other good right parties.
