Senior of the week

Tyler Kilgore

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Senior Tyler Kilgore has attended Porter Schools since Pre-K. When we asked Tyler how it feels to finally be a senior he replied, "It seems like I've waited my whole life just for this year." He wants to be remembered around Porter as a young man that is respectful to everyone, and as a person who

always has a smile on his face. Tyler plays football and basketball and as a captain for both teams Tyler wants to set a good example for younger student athletes to always give 100% percent effort in the classroom as well as on the court or field.

Although Tyler looked forward to this year all of his life he knows he is going to miss the friendships and relationships he has formed through the years, but he is ready to start a new chapter in his life. After High school Tyler plans to attend Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College pursuing a degree in ranch management for beef cattle.

Let no one discourage your ambitious attitude. You don't need a fan club to achieve your goals. Be your own motivation.

Clear Shoes

A popular trend this season is clear plastic shoes. These shoes look extremely uncomfortable. These shoes can even cause potential health problems. The material these shoes are made of literally fogs up which can cause foot fungus and other nasty things that nobody wants. Steer "Clear" of these shoes.

The Five D's of DodgeballThe class of 2022 hosted the first annual dodgeball tournament on February 2nd in the old gym. There were eight teams that participated ,with 2 being in the 12 and under category leaving 6 teams in the 13 to adult group. This was a hugely entertaining event while the ninth graders made a litt le money using this as a fundraiser for their class. The freshmen hope to continue hosting this tournament and that more teams will participate in the future.
