What is ABATE? American Bikers Aimed Toward Education is a not-for-profit cor-poration formed to promote and protect the interests of New York State motorcyclists. ABATE monitors and interacts with the legis-lative process, enhancing the image of the sport and providing educational and social opportunities for members as well as non-members. ABATE will continue to strive to become acquainted with both the issues and the people of the motorcycling communi-ty. WE ENCOURAGE ALL OUR MEMBERS TO BE IN-FORMED REGISTERED VOTERS. ABATE of New York, Inc. supports the Motorcycle Rider Education classes currently being offered throughout New York State. We welcome interested per-sons to any of our activities and to join our organization.

Onondaga Chapter Membership meeting February 18, 2018 Called to order: 12:32 pm Pledge of Allegiance Moment of silence Roll Call: President/VP/Membership/Secretary/Newsletter/Products/PR/Legislative/Treasurer/Assistant Legislative/Road Cap-tain/Webmaster/Sgt. At Arms/Products Motion to waive the reading of the minutes: 1st-Mike 2nd-Bob ~President Report: Please remember to call in “pot hole” information. Please give as much info as possible. A bill was passed in transportation regarding validity of helmets. ~VP Report: some items for sale-money will be donated to ABATE. Bikers United Winter Heat event is March 03 @ Ramada Inn Carrier Circle $25. Motion made by Bob to have a booth @ Winter Heat ($60.) 2nd by Mike-motion carried, all in favor. Now we need volunteers. We have invited Neil Fry (Bikers United) to come and speak at one of our meetings and offered to give a booth at our events. ~Legislative Report: AGAIN: Report pot holes!! Check out various website to get info on motorcycle issues. MRF, etc. Our website can link you to many. ~Treasurer Report: Read December report: motion to accept; 1st– Mike 2nd–Bob Read January report: motion to accept; 1st-Mike 2nd-Bob Read report from Chili Cook-off ~Membership Report: 303 members; we still have free memberships to give out. ~Secretary Report: none at this time. ~Newsletter Report: none at this time. ~Road Captain Report: Still looking for a venue for Helmet/Memorial run. Any ideas, please let us know. ~Products Report: Working on Helmet/Memorial shirts. ~Sgt. At Arms: 15 minutes prior to meeting-no smoking (please go outside) Please turn off cell phones during meetings. Please speak ONE AT A TIME. Thank you. ~PR: Jerry will be working on getting our billboards again beginning in May. ~Old Business: Jerry read Super Swap report. Thanks to all who volunteered!! March 10-Pool Tourney. $10. April 29-Blessing-need volunteers and if someone would like to donate red solo cups. Need a clean up crew. Ben Rabin donated $500. towards rent and paid for all the coffee for the Super Swap. Thank you so much Ben!! ~New Business: Watch Fire-May 27-need volunteers on Saturday to hang flags. We will come back to meeting hall for pizza after. June 02-Joker Run $10. July 02-Helmet/Memorial run-looking for vendors. If anyone knows any businesses that are will-ing to donate door prizes, that would be helpful. Jerry attended State meeting and there is a new office manager. Membership payments can now be done thru “pay pal.” Rooms for Albany run are $63. at the Best Western. See Jerry for more info.
