undeeated season to clinch the MidwestWest Division granting them their rstever birth in the Division I-AA playos.Te Badgers are currently ranked #11 inthe country according to Rugbmag.com.
Te teams last run at a national XVs titlecame 4 years ago in 2009 when the Bad-gers nished with Runner Up honors
in the Division II title game. Missing ashot at the Divsion I Playos by just onegame or the last two years in a row, theteam has been hard at work with theireyes set on a national championship.

On March 24th, Te University o exasMens Rugby eam completed an unde-
eated 7-0 season by deeating the RiceOwls 36-26 in Houston and winning theinaugural Southwest Conerence Cham-pionship. Te win propels exas into itsrst ever National Sweet 16, where theywill ace deending National ChampionDavenport University on April 28th inMadison, WI.
In a season highlighted by a revenge44-10 victory o exas State, who hadknocked U out o the national cham-pionship race the year prior, and a 113-0 road victory o the Baylor Bears, themost points scored by the Longhornsin the 26 year history o the program,the University o exas was able to put 8
players onto the Southwest Conerencerst or second teams on the their way tothe title.

Our club was ounded in the spring o1989 by Ken Lowe, a native o SouthArica. 2011 marks the 22nd year o ourexistence. Te University o WisconsinWhitewater Rugby Club participates inthe Wisconsin Rugby Union as a division2 collegiate team. We have two seasonsper year. One in the all semester andone in the spring semester. Our coner-
ence season is played in the all, o whichthe top two teams in our conerencequaliy or the NCAA Midwest ourna-ment, which is the launching pad intothe national tournament. Also, duringthe year, including summer, we partici-pate in tournaments around the state andthe midwest.
Te Warhawks look to deend their divi-sion II title aer a 7-3 championship winover Middlebury University last season.Te University o Wisconsin - White-water team enters the sweet sixteen withonly one loss on the season and unde-eated in Division II play. Tey are cur-rently ranked 2nd in the Divsion IIRugbymag.com rankings.

Tere has been rugby in Warrensburgand on the campus o the University oCentral Missouri in one orm or another
since 1972. Nicknames, status and com-petition level have changed, but theresbeen one constant throughout the betterpart o that time Robert e Smith.He took over as the coach in the 2000s,but competed as a player rom the early80s through to the end o the century. ehas impacted the rugby careers and liveso players rom multiple decades and
several generations.
Te team spent a large part o its his-tory as the Warriors, but was rebrandedin recent years as the Mules, to realignthemselves with the University. TeMules are now a ull-status club oncampus, supported by the clubs sports
department. Tey compete as a DII col-legiate side within the Heart o AmericaRugby Football Union.

In 2011, LU announced the additionso mens and womens rugby to begincompetition in the 2011-12 academic
year. Ron Laszewski was announced asthe rst head rugby coach o the Lionsrugby team, Laszewski is a ormer headcoach in the Rugby Super League and aormer USA Eagle player; in addition, hewas the rst American coach to completethe International Rugby Boards Level 3certication program. LU will begin playin USA Rugby Division II level, as rugbyis not governed by the NCAA. LU rugbycurrently plays at the Division II levelin the Missouri Rugby Football Union(MRFU). In its rst season Lindenwoodplayed a mixed schedule o both DivisionI and II college programs, but intends toadvance to higher levels o college rugbycompetition as the program matures.
Te team played its rst game in pro-gram history on September 4, 2011 in anexhibition match against coach Laszews-
kis ormer team, the St. Louis BombersRFC, by a score o 21-12.[76] Te pro-gram earned its rst ofcial win againstKansas 47-10 on September 10, 2011.[77] Te team nished the 2011 regularseason 11-0 and outscored opponents1077-43 and won the programs rstMissouri Rugby Football Union Cham-pionship.[78] Te season included vestraight 100-point games, and six overall100-point games.[78][79] Te Lions alsohad six shutouts and held opponents un-der 10 points nine times.[78] Te upstartprogram quickly climbed through theop 25 poll and nished 2nd to deend-ing Division II rugby champions, Uni-versity o WisconsinWhitewater.[80]
Lindenwood qualied or the Division IIplayos in its rst season and competedand hosted the West Region playos inMarch 2012.
