MAILING ADDRESS Name of company shall appearautomatically. If you want to mentionother name you can. In aboveexample we are not changing thename. You have to write the addressalso. Say, the address is 15, NehruPlace, New Delhi110019

STATUTORY COMPLIANCE FOR INDIA (It can not be changed)

STATE When we fill up this detail then a list ofall Indian States will appear. Selectany one. For this example we haveselected Delhi being the state of thecompany.

TELEPHONE NUMBER Give the telephone number of thecompany. Say11111111

CURRENCY SYMBOL Already given as (Rs.). We need notto change the same.

MAINTAIN There are three options given. 1.Accounts only. 2. Accounts withinventory. .If you want to do accountsonly then select accounts only and ifyou want to maintain stock, raising thebills, then select option Accounts withInventory and if you want to maintaininventory only then select Inventoryonly. In this example we are selectingAccounts Only.

FINANCIAL YEARFROM Suppose, we want to maintain theaccounts for the financial year 2011-

BOOKS BEGINNING FROM Here also, we will mention01.04.2011. In case, you are starting

your accounts from 01.10.2011 thenyou can write as 01.10.2011. But, inthis case you can not make any entrybefore 01.10.2011 for financial year2011-12.

DISALLOWING OPENING INEDUCATIONAL MODE

You should write Yes because youwant to maintain the accounts not forstudy purpose. But, we have selectedNo because we are just learning.

TALLY VAULT PASSWORD, (IF ANY) Leave it blank. If you give anypassword under tally vault, you cannot see your company in list ofcompanies whenever you open thetally. It is advisable not to give anypassword under this column.

USE SECURITY CONTROL In this column say Yes. Because youmust have some password for yourcompany so that the person whoknows the password, he only canopen the company.

NAME OF ADMINISTRATOR Write any thing but remember, if youhave written any thing incapitalletters,then at the time of opening companyyou have to write you administrationname in capital letter only otherwiseyou would not be able to open thetally. Here we are writing XYZasadministrators name in capital letters.

PASSWORD You have to follow the procedure asgiven in administrators name. Herealso, we are writing XYZas passwordin capital letters.

REPEAT PASSWORD You should again write your passwordas written in Password Column. SowriteXYZ in capital letters. You cannot see what you have written. It is

just to test you whether you canremember your password or no. So,

be very careful regarding yourpassword. If you forget your passwordthen you have not option to open yourcompany. In that case you have tocontact to Tally people only.

USE TALLY AUDIT FEATURES Write No. Basically this feature isrequired by auditors or senior persons.So for the time being for learners, it isadvisable to select No against thiscolumn.
