The sofa must be lifted and turned to return it to an upright position. Avoid using the feet as a lever to avoid damaging them.

Position the sofa at least 50cm. from any sources of heat such as radiators or gas fires.

Avoid exposing the sofa to direct sunlight or to high power lamps to ensure the colours remain bright.

At this stage it is interesting to be aware of the materials used by our craftsmen with accuracy and patience in order to render your sofa unique and comfortable.The wood used to make our frames is carefully selected to resist to any type of stress; the most commonly used is fir, poplar and Beachwood. In total accordance with local handcraft traditions, the spring system is obtained with highly resistant elastic straps especially designed for sofa production and contributing to achieve perfect comfort. Their experience and passion are also revealed by the fact that they are aware of how exactly people define the comfort all over the world. The degree of softness in the foam does in fact vary according to market preferences. Therefore it must be calibrated and tested accordingly and the materials used must be different. Listed below you can find some of the materials used for our padding:

- polyester fibre down, very thin polyester filaments able to ensure a high degree of softness to the back cushions and the armrests;

- goose feathers which are characterized by outstanding quality and lightness;- polyurethane, of which the density and degree of softness are carefully investigated and

studied in accordance with the kind of comfort required by the different markets.

WARNINGDuring the first three months of use polyurethane foam padding tends to become softer and then finally stabilizes itself. This process is absolutely natural as when pressure is applied on the seating the micro-cells that comprise the polyurethane break down. This process is perfectly normal for this kind of material and produces a slight softening effect. As above, it is absolutely normal that the softness of a seat/back padding is found to be different from the one adjacent, depending on its usage. Light creases may form on the covering following the abovementioned natural setting of the padding, which are to be considered absolutely normal and depend on the settling of the leather.

Buying a new sofa is just like buying a new outfit: you have to focus on your wardrobe, fulfil your personal taste and the demand of practicality to finally buy a fashionable article.Choosing your sofa’s outfit so that it finds its natural harmony in your house is the same thing: you need to choose its colour, the kind of fabric, the style. For these reasons Polo Divani offers a wide variety of coverings and colours in both leather and micro-fabric.

THE LEATHER Wrapping but never over zealus natural leather is practical and elegant, resistant and delicate and its value grows with age.Moreover according to the tanning process received, the leather gains different esthetical and technical characteristics, making the leather sofa the right sofa in the right place.

Protected Leather Pigmented/buffed leathers are characterized by a strong and resistant nature and are covered by a thin finishing layer that makes its surface uniform, resistant to wear and to the passing of time. They are suitable for active and fun loving people and busy places.

Natural Leather Natural Leathers are tanned without adding any finishing layer therefore preserving their original characteristics.

WARNINGThe presence of healed scars, differences in grain, wrinkles, veining, varying shades of colour and any trace that nature has left on these hides is proof that they are absolutely genuine.If you purchase a new sofa, with a covering that is an identical article and/or is of the same colour as the sofa that you already own, you might note slight differences in shades of colour between the two, because of the unique personality of each hide.

FABRICSOur fabrics represent the ideal synthesis of Italian style and quality, they combine incredible softness with durability and practicality. All articles undergo rigorous quality checks, including the Martindale test, which measures their resistance to wear.There are 2 types of washing processes for our fabrics: dry cleaning and wet cleaning. Dry cleaning is an operation which foresees cleaning the covering material using organic solvents. The process includes cleaning, rinsing and drying. Wet cleaning in water is an operation which foresees cleaning the fabric covering in water. This process includes cleaning, rinsing and drying. It is essential to iron the covering by following the ironing instructions shown on the label.When the covering is washed in water, it is necessary to pay attention to the maximum washing temperature indicated on the sofa’s label.

MICROFABRICPolo Divani also offers an alternative to leather, suitable for people looking for a fabric combining strength and elegance. Microfabric is a type of synthetic fabric obtained by a very dense spinning of fibres that increases its resistance to abrasion, wear and tear.Micro-fabric doesn’t just come in a large variety of colours, but also offers the pleasure of a soft and velvety touch and more importantly, long lasting quality compared to other sofas covered in cotton or other natural fibres.

Milk, beer, coffee, tea, drinks.Pat the surface with a soft cloth. Wipe the stain with a cloth soaked in water. If the stain persists, use a lightly soaped solution.

Ink.Immediately wipe off the stains with a cloth or absorbent paper. Then using a circular motion rub a cloth soaked in white alcohol.

Oils, grease.Pat the surface with a soft cloth. Wipe the stain with a soft, dry cloth with mild soapy water and warm water.
