WATER POLLUTION

Water pollution is the pollution of bodies of water, such as lakes, rivers, seas, the oceans, as well as groundwater.

It occurs when pollutants reach these bodies of water, without treatment. Waste from homes, factories and other buildings get into the water bodies and as a result the water gets contaminated.

HOW CAN WE STOP WATER POLLUTION

Avoid using the toilet as a wastebasket. Most tissues, wrappers, dust cloths, and other paper goods should be properly discarded in a wastebasket. The fiber reinforced cleaning products that have become popular should never be discarded in the toilet. Keep solid wastes solidRun the dishwasher or clothes washer only when you have a full load. This conserves electricity and water.Use the minimum amount of detergent and/or bleach when you are washing clothes or dishes. Use only phosphate free soaps and detergents.

DO NOT pour fat from cooking or any other type of fat, oil, or grease down the sink. Keep a “fat jar” under the sink to collect the fat and discard in the

solid waste when full

AIR POLLUTION

Air pollution is the name for extremely small particles and gases in the air which can cause harm if you breathe them in.

It also damages the ozone layer gases such as nitrogen dioxide, ozone, sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide. particulate matter, made up of solid and liquid particles such as soot and dust.

HOW WE CAN STOP AIR POLLUTION

● Using public transports● Turn off the lights when not in use● Recycle and Reuse● Use of fans instead of Air Conditioner● Avoid using of products with chemicals● Use filters for chimneys

LAND POLLUTION Land pollution occurs when liquid or solid waste materials are being disposed either on the land surface or buried underground. If that in some way contaminates the soil or imposes threat to the health of the people nearby, that means the land has been polluted. Land pollution is a major problem around the world and is caused by a variety of factors. Some of main causes of soil pollution include deforestation and consequent erosion, agriculture, industry, mining, landfills and illegal dumping of waste as well as scraps from construction.

HOW WE CAN STOP LAND POLLUTION

Reforestation replaces trees that have been cut down, and occurs either through natural means or through planting new trees. Instead of mining fossil fuels, we can use alternative energy like solar power, wind power, or hydroelectric power as renewable energy sources that produce limited land pollution.

We hope you have enjoyed our assembly.
