Must have pass to leave cafeteriaBathroom usage is limited to the restrooms

between cafeteria and library.Green Light – Students have flexibility to

move throughout cafeteria with purpose.Yellow Light – Begin to throw everything

Dress Code

Shorts and skirts need to be Mid-Thigh to Knee in length.

No clothing that is deemed too tight or revealing in nature (exposing too much skin).

No midriff showingNo saggingNo ripped or torn clothingNo halter tops, muscle shirts, sleeveless jerseys, tank

tops, tube tops, off the shoulder tops or backless tops.No pajamas, no jeggings, no yoga pantsNo hats or head coverings, unless mandated by

religious beliefs.

Electronic Use Policy

Students are NOT permitted to carry electronic/communication devices during the school day unless it is a schedule Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) day. This means a teacher has asked you to bring your device to class for a technology driven assignment. Students will know in advance.

1st offense – The device will be taken away by staff; parent/guardian must pick it up.

2nd offense – The device will be held by the principal and not given back until the end of the semester.

If the student refuses to hand over the device, he/she will be suspended for at least 3 days and cannot return to school until a conference is held with the parent/guardian.

Tardy Policy

Tardy 1- Record and submit log entry into Power Teacher

Tardy 2- Record and submit entry in Power Teacher and phone call home (make parent aware of consequence for third tardy), log parent contact

Tardy 3- Record and submit log entry into Power Teacher and send student to IST for the hour, log parent contact

Tardy 4- Submit log entry to office for parent meeting and progressive discipline

Computer Labs

Computers are a shared resource, please be respectful of ALL equipment.

Leave workstation in same or BETTER conditions than you found it.

Report any damage to the workstation to the teacher.

Do not unplug ANYTHING.No food or drinks (capped water bottles need to be

kept on the floor of workstation)Any equipment given to you during class, MUST be

returned in the same or BETTER condition before you leave.

Auditorium

The following Items are NOT allowed Food, Drink, Gum, Electronic Devices.

Enter quietly and go to assigned section.Use appropriate tone of voice until prompted

by administration to come to attention.Students may not leave this area without

teacher’s permission (unless emergency signal occurs).

Students must wait until dismissed to exit auditorium.

Assemblies

Parkside students will treat all guests with respect.

Students will walk in a single file line, led by the classroom teacher to the auditorium.

Students will come in, have a seat and quietly prepare for the performance to start.

Administrators will welcome and dismiss students accordingly.

Your individual, class, team, grade or overall school behavior will determine future assemblies.

Front Desk/Office Area

No phone use without permission from school personnel

No students allowed in office before 7:20 am. unless accompanied my parent/guardian.

If tardy, breakfast items are to be consumed in the office before leaving for class.

Tutorial Room

Students are sent to IST to reset and to regain entry into instructional setting.

Give IST teacher RED pass upon entering if for “reset” violation consequence.

No socializingStudents must complete assignment given by

teacher.Students must complete reflection form and

work given while in IST.

Substitute Teachers & Guests

Parkside students will treat all guests with respect.

All policies, procedures and expectations are the same when a sub or guest is in the building/classroom.

Substitute Teachers and Guests have the same authority to enforce guidelines as Parkside staff.

Student ID’s

Students must wear their student ID’s at all times.

It’s a good idea to leave your ID in your locker at the end of every day.

Bullying

1. Bullying. Bullying of a student at school is strictly prohibited. For the

purposes of this policy, "bullying" shall be defined as:

Any written, verbal, or physical act, or any electronic communication, that is intended or that a reasonable person would know is likely to harm one or more students either directly or indirectly by doing any of the following: a. Substantially interfering with educational opportunities, benefits, or programs of one

or more students; b. Adversely affecting a student's ability to participate in or benefit from the District's

educational programs or activities by placing the student in reasonable fear of physical harm or by causing substantial emotional distress;

c. Having an actual and substantial detrimental effect on a student's physical or mental health; or

d. Causing substantial disruption in, or substantial interference with, the orderly operation of the school.

2. Retaliation/False Accusation. Retaliation or false accusation against a target of bullying, anyone reporting bullying, a witness, or another person with reliable

Positive Parkside Rewards

Students will receive monthly rewards for positive behavior. The criteria for rewards are:

No discipline log entries No tardies

Each month, students start fresh with a clean slate.

The June Reward will also incorporate and academic component.
