Executive Message

In order for us to grow, we need your help. You will be receiving a postcard announcing an exciting campaign -

NEW MEMBERSHIP DRIVE.

Tamra Pawloski, President-Elect

The ISM-NJ 2014-2015 Program Year Has Started and We Are in Full Swing!

The Board of Directors has had our kick off meeting at the end

of August with a lot of discussion on the responsibilities of each position on the board, membership and more effective communica-tion. Bob Murphy, our President, emphasized the importance of our members throughout the session. As was said to me, “it is the year of the members.” The membership discus-sion ranged from enhancing current membership to ideas for growing our membership. We would like to hear from you on what we can do to make your membership more effective. So drop me an email at [email protected]. I would love to hear your ideas and feedback. In order for us to grow, we need your help. You will be receiv-ing a postcard announcing an exciting campaign - NEW MEMBERSHIP DRIVE. The person who recruits the most new members for this year will get a tablet. Our membership has de-crease significantly in the last couple of years due to corporate downsizing and some of our largest companies opting

to become corporate/direct members. This leaves our members who work for them as members of ISM National, but not members of the New Jersey affiliate. We want to show the supply chain professional that ISM-NJ is the organization to join. We have a lot to offer from networking to educational programs. Speaking of educational programs, we started the year off with dinner programs that were a little out of the supplier chain “norm.” Thank you to Gus and Mary for kicking off the year with expanding our knowledge on some paranormal and secret service discus-sions. This month we will be back into the supply chain topics with Supplier

Cost Savings Case study. On October 17th and 18th, we will have our Women & Leadership conference at The Westin Jersey City Newport Hotel. The agenda is packed with interesting speakers and timely topics. This committee put a program together that is exemplary! A special “THANK YOU” to Cheryl D’Cruz-Young, for once again being just amazing in her commitment to this conference and ISM-NJ. I am looking forward to attending and seeing you all there. As we get into the last quarter of the year and for many of us the busi-est, I want to just remind you that your professional health is important, so come to a dinner meeting, attend a professional development session, or at-tend a webinar. Your participation and involvement is very important to all of us on the Board!
