PneumaCare’s family of products, the PneumaScan™ and Thora-3DI™, can capture a functional image of the lungs, by analysing chest wall movement, and translate it into pulmonary function outputs for use in the assessment of pre/post-operative thoracic patients, COPD, Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis, Pneumonia and other respiratory conditions. The Thora-3DI™ measures regional pulmonary contributions in a non-contact, non-invasive methodology, providing rich lung function information. The mobile measurement platform allows for assessment at the patient bedside. Earlier thoracic post-surgical evaluations are possible for patients that cannot be transferred to a pulmonary function testing environment.

The PneumaScan™ removes many of the current pulmonary function testing limitations by measuring lung function in a non-contact non-invasive methodology. By eliminating the requirement to form a seal on a mouthpiece, a broader patient population can now be assessed. Imaging can be done in a lung function lab, at the patient’s bedside or even at admission, allowing for a rapid diagnosis and faster implementation of preventative care measures for many sufferers of respiratory related ailments.
