If a solution cannot be found, as a last resort, the course maybe cancelled. In this eventuality, you will be given a full refund.

• Instalments: In certain circumstances, fees may be paid in instalments. Please contact theAccounts Department: 01273 892009. Instalments are by direct debit and are made according to thelength of the course.

Loans are repayable only when earning over £21,000 per year.

Bursary FundsStudents on some part time courses can apply to the College, after enrolment, for help towards theircourse costs. To be eligible you must be on a low income (annual household income less than£22,000).

Refunds and Cancellation PolicyIt is College policy that NO REFUNDS are made after the commencement of the course,except in extenuating circumstances. This is at the discretion of the Principal. Bookings may becancelled or transferred with no penalty if notification is received more than 10 working days prior tothe start date of the course. If less than 10 working days notice is given, you will be charged the full feefor the course.

Professional and Career Development LoansThese are bank loans to pay for courses and training that help with your career or help get you intowork. Entry Requirements:• Must be in full time paid employment for a minimum of 30hours per week.

• Minimum Apprenticeship wage is £2.73 an hour for 16-18year olds and those over 19 in their first apprenticeshipyear. If you are over 19, in subsequent years you shouldreceive the National Minimum Wage for your age group.

• Preferably you will have achieved English and Maths GCSEsA-E or equivalent. We will take into consideration previousindustry experience. Please note this differs for VeterinaryNursing.

Food, Farming and Countryside in the Curriculum –all visits to the College are tailor madeA visit to a farm gives children the opportunity to connectwith the living environment and interact with animals andliving plants. A school can use these new approaches toraise achievement, as well as to transmit key messages suchas healthy eating.

Topics cover food, farming, countryside, planting, growing,germination, care of animals, bees, pond dipping, shelterbuilding, identification of trees and habitat studies, to namea few. Longer term projects with more regular visits can bearranged.

Children develop and maintain a dedicated growing plotwithin a covered greenhouse. Instruction, guidance andequipment will be provided by Plumpton College.

Forest Schools Programme

Forest Schools at PlumptonThis programme is designed to encourage learning in theoutdoor environment through guided exploration, structuredactivity, crafts and the use of tools. The programmeaccommodates children from Reception through to GCSE.Popular themes include: Camp fire cooking, fire lighting,habitats, wildlife, life cycles, food webs, tool use,orienteering and shelter building.

Forest School at Flimwell is a longer term programmedesigned to bring children regularly into an outdoor woodlandlocation (usually weekly).

Grandfather Rights for Pesticide UsersUnder current UK law any person born before 31st December 1964is able to purchase and use pesticides for use on their own or theiremployer’s land without a certificate of competence, although theyshould be suitable trained. The Plant Protection Products(Sustainable Use) Regulations 2012 allow this exemption to continueuntil 26th November 2015. After this date, any person who usespesticides authorised for professional use must hold a certificate ofcompetence. In addition to this, any person purchasing pesticidesfor professional use after 26th November 2015 will be causing anoffence if the intended end user does not hold a certificate ofcompetence.New Level 2 Certificate in the Safe Use of Pesticides ReplacingGrandfather Rights
