Affectionately known as one of the UK’s most picturesque small racecourses, Plumpton Racecourse is one of the most unique and memorable wedding venues in Sussex. With the beautiful backdrop of the South Downs and set within secluded grounds, our facilities include a pavilion marquee, an extensive range of rooms, and acres of outdoor space that can all be used to create the wedding of your dreams.

Guests can enjoy a champagne reception outside in the sunshine, where your special moments are captured within our wonderful setting, and importantly, the venue is exclusively yours for this memorable day. Plumpton Racecourse is licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships, offering both an indoor and outdoor ceremony venue.

Our outdoor ceremony venue is located in the picturesque setting of the Parade Ring, creating a unique location for your special day.

Pavilion Marquee

Situated within our grounds, you will have exclusive use of the Pavilion Marquee which offers a stylish and unique setting for your wedding day.

• Main area suitable for wedding parties from 70 to 350 guests for dining and dancing

• A Reception area offers the ideal space for welcome drinks and canapés

• Beautiful lawn adjacent to the Pavilion Marquee with garden furniture provided

• Ample space for outdoor activities such as BBQs, Hog Roasts or entertainment

• Full length windows affording spectacular views of the racetrack

Paddock Restaurant

For a more intimate wedding, you may wish to choose our Paddock Restaurant located on the first floor of the Sussex Stand over-looking the winning post.

• Suitable for wedding parties from 40 to 100 guests for dining and dancing

• Guests can enjoy welcome drinks and canapés on the balcony

• Floor to ceiling windows offering stunning vistas across the racecourse towards the South Downs National Park

Licensed Ceremonies

Plumpton Racecourse is licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships, providing both an indoor and outdoor ceremony venue offering stunning settings for your marriage vows.

• Outdoor ceremony venue is located in the picturesque setting of the Parade Ring

• Oak framed venue with the magnificent Plumpton Oak Tree as a backdrop

• Suitable for ceremonies up to 350 guests

• Indoor ceremony venue is located on the first floor of the Sussex Grandstand with panoramic views across the racecourse

Anise Catering

Anise Catering, our prestige caterers, provide a culinary experience that is exquisite, indulgent and individual.

We have a vast wedding breakfast menu for you to choose from, designed to give choice and flexibility in the style of food and service. Dishes can be tailored to your individual requirements, using only natural and ethical products where possible.

Organising your wedding is one of the most special and personal events of your life, and because no two weddings are alike, we will ensure that your wedding is tailor-made to your requirements.

Together with Anise Catering we can help you as you begin the planning and preparations, and we offer a free consultation and quoting service along with menu tastings.

Together, we have designed an all-inclusive package which you may use as a guide to plan your wedding day.

The Sussex Package

• A welcome drink and canapé reception

• Three course wedding breakfast

• Half bottle of house wine per person

• After dinner tea, coffee and sweet treats

• Toasting drink

• Bar service

Our Sussex package is priced at £85 (inc VAT) per person and is based on a minimum of 60 guests, inclusive of venue hire, table linen, tableware, staffing, event management, security staff and car parking.

Once we had seen the marquee at Plumpton Racecourse we knew straight away it was the perfect setting for our big day. It had everything we were looking for, from stunning scenery to space for our entertainment and you actually get married under the winners’ podium which was really quirky! Choosing a racecourse also meant that I could arrive by horse drawn carriage and everyone could see my grand entrance!
