How to use this Matrix Only 501(c)3:
Some cause-based platform screen causes to reject those without a high quality and a verifiable track record. They use 501(c)3
incorporation as a primary vetting metric and only these nonprofits can run campaigns on
their platform.
Only Social Good: While some platforms
accommodate profit-seeking ventures, others require
campaigns to have a social benefit component.
Keep What You Raise: This model allows campaigns to retain all the money that they've raised, as opposed to goal-centric campaigns
where funding would be denied if the pre-set goal is not achieved.
Payment Processor: The company or organization who provides the financial transaction service between the donor and
the organization.
Platform Fee: The amount that the platform or
service charges to use their website. It is typically used to fund the costs associated with
operating the site.
Processing Fee: The amount that the credit card processor charges to use their services. It is used to
offset the amount that it costs to process a credit card transaction. Some platforms
charge an additional flat fee of around 30 cents for each transaction.
Monthly Uniques: The quantity of new individuals who visit the website over one month. This metric was taken
during Fall 2013.
Total Participation: The total amount of individuals
who have participated or contributed on the crowdfunding
platform.
Number of Campaigns: The total amount of individual
campaigns that have taken place on the crowdfunding platform.
Pledged: The total amount of money that has been pledged or donated on
the crowdfunding platform.
