• 2nd is the Epithet

Genus

Is a closely related group of plants comprised of one or more species

Classification is based on 1. Structure of Flower 2. Structure of Fruit 3. Structure of leaves, bud, stems & roots- Generic name is written in with a CAPITAL letter & underline or Italicized

Composed of plants that show characteristics that distinguish them from other groups in the genus.

- Written in lower case & underline or italicized - Group of plants within a species show a
