With one set of questionnaires complete, we feltthat in order to gain the best knowledge from ouraudience, an additional questionnaire would besuitable and would inform us which way to take ourlm before the lming process. We were alsointerested as to what the people watching ourexpository documentary wanted to see rather thanthe content.

Question-By-Question Analysis• In order for the people answering the questionnaire

we felt that it would be suitable for an openingstatement to be placed so that they were aware asto what they were answering and why. We simplystated the rough theme of what our documentaryis going to be about and how we are going tostylise it. In this we mentioned we were "exposingthe truths and secrets behind isney lms" andthat we wanted to know what elements should befeatured in the documentary. !his opens up thequestions and the fact that we want the help of ouraudience to help shape and sculpture ourdocumentary.

#or this question we were interested as to howmany people we inter$iewed, as a percentage hadseen any of the original disney lms. We hoped foraround %&' to ha$e seen it because we were fullyaware that disney does not appeal to e$eryaudience and out of the questioned, & hadseen the original lms, exceeding our expectationsto %'. !his was a $ery good outcome because thema(ority was aware of the sub(ect of ourdocumentary. !his makes %' aware of our sub(ectbut we could also try to educate the remaining %'in a way that does not spoil lms yet informs and

educates the %' in an acti$e way suitable for thetopic.

) !his is a simple question which informs us in agood way. *a$ing identied our target audience inthe pre$ious set of questionnaire we fe felt that itwould be suitable to target more towards theyoung adult+ teenage audience but we also feltthat it would be benecial to question the olderaudience. We asked eight people from the youngeraudience and three of the older generation.

We wanted all of these questions to be as simpleas possible so we decided to go with the yes nostyled questions. !his allowed the questionnairesto be completed quickly for the people completingthis as well as gi$ing a straight to the pointresponse. !his question is a stylistic detail whichcomes from the format and structure of our lm. -smentioned we wanted to ensure that our coreconcern was what the viewers wanted andwe wanted to tailor it suitably for them.eciding if we needed a $oice o$er is one of themost important factors as if the audience wasstrongly against this, our lming plan could changecompletely or it could eect us so much that ourlming could be deemed useless. !hat is why wewanted to address this factor sooner rather thanlater. We were $ery condent with the idea ofha$ing a $oiceo$er and if the questionnaires wereagainst this it would eect us greatly. #rom theresults, /' of people wanted a $oice o$er withthe remaining people wanting a 0&+0& mix of both$oice o$er and 1presenter1 gure. #rom theseresults this caused discussion in our group but theend result was that we would not feature apresenter in our piece primarily because we planon taking all of our shots in isney 2and and if wewanted someone outside of our group, then there

could be complications bringing this person there.#urthermore, ha$ing a presenter in the park of

isney 2and would cause great distraction andpeople could look at the camera or mess up+disturb shots making lming exceptionally di3cult.We were glad that this came in discussion as at theend of our piece we could experience doubt withour piece and thinking what it would be like with apresenter but ha$ing ruled it out of the question,we are happy.

4 56ee -bo$e50 Whilst brainstorming for our piece, from the get7go,

we wanted to contain some stock footage incertain parts to make the facts come to life. #romthese questionnaires one person felt stock footagemay not be suitable for this piece but that beingsaid it still ga$e us a %' 1yes rate1 supportingour initial idea of stock footage. 8ot only does thisshow our audience agrees and shows we are onthe right lines for our lm, but allows us to placethe maximum of & seconds of original footage inour piece but helps bring the piece and the 1fear1 tolife.

9 !his is one of the three in the sub category of our1#ootage of isney1 section. We were interested asto what they wanted to see before the hard hittingpart of the lm or weather they wanted any atall.#rom this, / of the wanted to see this :;).;)'

that was a clear indicator that they wanted a smallhint of action within the documentary. With thisresponse opposite as to what we were thinking wefelt that we had to some what ignore this answer.

!he main reason for this was because we felt thatthis action element went o topic and went moretowards the thriller route and we felt that rideshots would be irrele$ant shots. We also felt thatwe needed to ha$e as much as a say where ourlm went than our audience. We wanted to keep afearful theme within the lm and using shots suchas rides could dull down this.

/ !his question was similar to the pre$ious becausewe were unsure about using these shots as we feltthat it softens the blow from the hard hitting>rothers ?rimm stories. *a$ing a train ride therecould make our 1scary1 expository documentarychange in theme. We felt that ha$ing things suchas a train (ourney could soften our atmosphere forit. *a$ing a train ride is something which would beused for compilations or introductory scenes forlms such as the @ducating @ssex+ Aorkshiredocumentaries. Bur audience seemed to agreewith our opinion of this with only 4 of the inter$iewed wanting train shots as establishingshots. Considering this is only 9.9' of thepeople inter$iewed it shows that the ma(ority (ustwant shots rele$ant to the content and that theinformation can be gi$en to them straight awayrather than dragging it on unnecessarily.

In conclusion we felt really happy with the result ofour second questionnaire because allowed us tofurther increase our knowledge and understandingof what our audience wanted to see. !his

furthermore allowed us to know, specically whatwe wanted to lm when we arri$ed at isneyland

making it appeal to our audience more making it amore successful nal result. *a$ing co$ered all ofthe aspects of our lm with two questionnaires wefelt condent that our lm will be successful andnot only appeal to our D-I8 target audience butalso draw attention from other audiences fromdierent age ranges and genders too.
