Plan to support one-to-one mentoring in 2016/2017

Dear Prospective Donors and Supporters,

Big Brothers Big Sisters provides professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships that help a child

who is facing some kind of adversity, overcome obstacles and succeed in life. Our programs work! According to

research done locally with more than 300 teachers who are involved in our program more than 65% of the children in

the program improved in their academic performance last year. Our mentoring programs help our youth make better

decisions and to stay in school! We help them better understand the connection between education and work, and that

making good choices will help them succeed in life.

We know that every year your company or organization needs to plan and budget for the support you provide to

area non-profit organizations. We know it is difficult for you to support programs and events when we contact you

months after you have budgeted your community support dollars.

While this “catalog” of programming, program enhancement support and event sponsorships isn’t intended to

fully explain the opportunities available to support one-to-one mentoring at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi

Valley, it is intended to give you a brief description and amount that it takes to support the program or event.

If something in this brochure peaks your interest, please feel free to give us a call or email us and ask us for more

details and information. We also work collaboratively with you to customize these programs to best meet your needs

and the needs of our Littles.

Thank you for taking the time to look over these opportunities for supporting such an important cause. Helping

children break the cycle of poverty and become independent, contributing adults in the community is so important not

only to the youth, but to the whole community.

Sincerely,

BBBS DEVELOPMENT TEAM:

Jay Beth Kayla
