”The decision to breed Arabian horses was made during

our first participation in the Arabian Horse Days at Janów

Podlaski. It was 2011 and the star of the auction was the 2

year old PIACENZA from Michałów Stud... but we became

enchanted with the atmosphere, the surroundings and the

incredible emotions associated with the amazing place which is

Janów Podlaski Stud”, Piotr Parys recalls the beginnings of his

fascination with Arabian horses. “My wife has had contact with

horses since childhood and our daughter is an active dressage

competitor, although she began her adventure with horses in

endurance.”

The stud is the fulfilment of our dreams. It is located in Dąbrówka,

a small village close to the town of Kazimierz Dolny, called the

pearl of the Polish renaissance, a royal city, known since the 16th

century as one of the larger trade centres in Poland. The specific

atmosphere of Kazimierz, its cafes, restaurants, guesthouses and

picturesque landscapes with their hills, valleys and loess ravines

attract plenty of tourists. In order to reflect the beauty of the

town’s architecture, we retained the spirit of the old building

masters in our stud. We combined the atmosphere of Polish

manor houses, where the tradition of horse breeding had been

alive for centuries, with the unique nature of the surroundings.

The first mares that we purchased were 2 representatives of the

damline of Gazella, descending from the mare MIRIAM (Mlech

Pełkiński - Gahdar/Wielki Szlem), one of the foundresses of

the Michałów herd: MAMBA (Ar-Rahman - Matnia/Palas)

and MILKA (PS Pacos - Mira/Sarmata). Next to join the

following year were NEBRASKA (HDB Sihr Ibn Massai –

Nicol / Major), FILA (Oset - Florena/Palas) and KASHIRA

(Magnum Psyche - Kahila IV/Ibn Bint Inas), together with

the tiny, freshly born KALAHARI by Ajman Moniscione. The

stud’s next developmental phase was the purchase of the then 6

year old BOHEMA, the Janów Podlaski-bred daughter of the

epochal Ekstern. Together with her three daughters Bohema is

without all doubt the adornment of our herd.

However the turning point of the stud’s history was the

purchase of the 4 year old chestnut PALATINA (QR Marc

- Palmeta/Ecaho) bred by Janów Podlaski during the 2013

Pride of Poland Sale. As befits a daughter of such accomplished

parents, we could soon enjoy Palatina’s successes on the show

arena - in 2015 she won the Silver Medal at the Al Khalediah

European Arabian Horse Festival and a year later she claimed

the title of Polish National Champion Mare together with the

awards for Best Head and Highest Score of the Show.

Together with Palatina we also purchased POEZJA (Enzo

- Pelota/Pilot), a year later PIRANEZA (Ecaho - Pilar/

Fawor), in 2016 PYRRA (Ekstern - Perga/Emigrant) and

in 2017 POLANA (Om El Bellissimo - Pomerania/Gazal

Al Shaqab). We were fortunate to obtain from them several

very promising mares, who are already becoming broodmares

themselves. Currently our herd consists of 11 mares, while 5

young fillies allow us to remain calm about the future of the

stud and growing our herd even further.

In 2019 we are expecting 8 foals by known and valued

world-class sires: RFI FARID, EMERALD J, MORION,

EMPIRE, EKS ALIHANDRO, KAHIL AL SHAQAB,

& SA FAEZ SIMBAD. q
