BULLETIN BOARD PRESENT COMMITTEE OF OUR ASSOCIATION UNANIMOUSLY REELECTED FOR A 3 YEAR CADENCE AT THE ANNUAL MEETING.

Before each summer se11Bon. the Assoclation bolds a traditional. concluding. membership meeting crowning the activities of the pnst year and planning endeavors and projects for the futur

So. also this year. on SUnday. Juno 12th. our members met ar the Temple of Young Israel in Briarwood. Close to 50 people attended.

In his opening remarks, chnirmnn A. JoUngcr gave a basic overview of past ncUvities. He al­so greeted Yocl Pytowski nnd v.1!e. guests from Israel. Report from the recent Mny 15th mee­ting wns submitted by recorcllng secretary Al RoseDBtein. followed by n flnancinl report given by financial and e.,cec. secrotney Joo Gold.

Since the three year cadence of the committee crune to an end. the chairmnmhip of the meeting was transfered to Mendel Koslowski, who con­ducted the election of the new committee.

All the members unanimously reelected the same officers stressing- their saUsfncUon re­garding the former commltte's performance.

Yoel Pytowski, the secretary of the Israeli branch reported then on the activities there. (see ·a summary of his report on page 21).

Two important dntcswere set: Sept. 11th for the cemetery gathering before Yorn Klppur and October 16th, 83 for the annual Hazkarnh.

The meeUng wns then adjourned and we all watched the Washington Gathering on videotape which wns produced by Ale:oc Koslowski. Tho program was taste!uly done. full of moving and poignant moments.

A full course npet:izing lunch was then provi­ded by our very able Ladies Au.'C:iliary.

Guci:l Szmulewltz - Welsskopf It is hard to believe that Gucln - Gucia Szmulewitz is no longer among us. Her family and her friends, will miss her inspiring Influence, her warmth and her positive attitude toward fellow man. Gucia's being was a constant task to help others; the elderly, the sick and the needy, She was beloved and highly respected by the Savannah community where she and her family lived. I remember Gucla as a child - a quiet, serious girl. I still remember her after the war in Piotrkov - a congenial and friendly young lady. During the last years, I knew of her great interest and big sentiment for our Bulletin. She once sn:ld to l\Ullle and Alex Koslowski her good friends: "When I get the Bulletin from New York, it's a big hollday for me - it's like to receive a lovely letter from home ••• " ••• I always wanted to meet her in the United States. Everybody remembers her warm receptions in our home, her warm smile, her kindness and hospitality, She was a devoted wife and mother and dedicated her whole life to rising her children and grandchildren in tho traditional Jewish way.
