Using Pinterest

What is Pinterest?

According to Wikipedia, Pinterest is a visual discovery tool that people use to collect ideas for their different projects and interests.

People create and share collections (called “boards”) of visual bookmarks (called “Pins”) that they use to do things like plan trips and projects, organize events or save articles and recipes.

To Start

To begin, you need to decide if you want to have a separate login for Pinterest or login with Facebook or another account.

Once you log in or create your account, you will see a page like this.

You can do several things from here. First, look at the upper left-hand corner.

Here you can invite friends to join Pinterest.

Under that box, is a box to find friends. These are friends that have joined previously that you can choose

to follow.

Now you are ready to start searching. You can look for something specific like ideas for a classroom, a type of

animal or quote. The possibilities are endless.

Once you find something that you like, you need a way to keep track of these ideas.

You do this by creating boards.

Once you click on the “Pin It” Button, you will see this next box. You have to choose where to put the pin.

When you click on the “Organizing Items” box, you will see all the boards that you have created and can use.

If you don’t have what you need, you can always create a new board.

By searching, you can locate information on almost anything.

And by pinning the information you find, you can save it and go back to it anytime you would like.

This works for both professional and personal boards.
