¨ Portugal has 130.386 hectares of stone pine (AFN, 2010);

¨ The stone pine was the forest specie that in the period between the last two National Forest Inventory - a period of approximately 10 years (1995-2006), had the highest area increase in absolute and relative value (+68 %, about 52.000 ha).
