Ally Miller is serving her first term as Supervisor for
Pima County District 1, having begun her term of office
in January 2013. She is happily married to her husband
and campaign strategist, Jeff, who works at Raytheon
Missile Systems. Active in local politics since 2008, she
is a Republican Precinct Committeeman. She is pas-
sionate about honest and fair governance. She came to
the realization that we all need to actively participate in
governance or we will lose all that we have. Ally’s edu-
cation includes a Bachelor of Science in Finance from
the University of Arizona and a Master’s degree in Busi-
ness Administration from the Eller School of Manage-
ment. Ally has many years of business experience in
the private sector, including her years at Honeywell and
Intel Corporation. She hails from Vermont….but she is
NOT feeling the Bern’! She is running for her second
term for Pima County Supervisor in 2016 and she
needs your support.

2016 ALL HANDS ON DECK We have had two great years of leadership from my good friend, Tiana
Smith. Having big shoes to fill can be a daunting task. How do you follow
that? All I can do to move this organization—which has an identity of its
own might I add—in the right direction is to ask for All Hands on Deck.
More about that in the article about Standing Committees. We had our first Board Meeting of the year last week and I am charged up
with the leaders that are here to represent this club. At the Silver Tea we
met new members who want to see what is happening with our club, too. Gini Crawford has
worked hard in the past to bring us engaging programs and she certainly has a great selection of
speakers lined up during what is going to be a fast moving year, politically. We have put a political
calendar in this newsletter, compliments of Brad Johns, my LD Chairman. If you are a precinct com-
mitteeman (which we will continue to encourage all to be) then you may be heading to Phoenix for
our State Mandatory Meeting this month. The Pima GOP is chartering a bus to make it easier for
PCs to get there. The bus will be staying later in the day this year to ensure PCs get to finish out the
business of the day. It will leave Tempe by 5pm so any marathon meetings will have to be completed
without weary Tucsonans. In late February, AzFRW has its first meeting that we will also be attend-
ing. If you want to attend that meeting with us, please email or speak to us. Go to the AzFRW web-
site to preview that event. Another “All Hands on Deck” plea is being made for the Lincoln Day Dinner committee. We are
looking at two dates in February and could use some help putting this PC appreciation event to-
gether. I am going to work on the Silent Auction tables so maybe a few of us can get this done fairly
efficiently.
Welcome to 2016 - we’re hitting the ground running.
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Ways and Means 2016 It’s time to refill our coffers so we can continue our many activities! In the past few
years, we have had our traditional barbeques, sometimes paired with entertainment.
We’ve had evenings at Gaslight Theatre, Roadhouse Cinemas, and a day at the Sonoita
Races. We will continue our monthly 50/50 raffle and we have some special raffle items
already. Let me know what kinds of fundraisers you’d like to see us do, and if you are
willing to help in any way. We are looking forward to an awesome year!
Tiana Smith

MEMBERSHIP REPORT
Susan K. Smith, Membership Chairman
The newly installed Board for the Pima County Republican Women's Club had their first meeting to plan the coming year. What an exciting year it is going to be!!! We have great plans to do all of the things we do:
. Promote an informed electorate through political education
. Promote Republican ideals
. Conduct voter registration drives
. Work on political campaigns
. Support teenage Republicans
. Support U of A College Republicans
. Support Local Charities
. Support our Troops
. Increase the effectiveness of women in government political participation
This is probably the most important election year for our Country, State and County. We have great candidates to support and we want you to be part of this coming year. I am encouraging you to re-new your membership in our club. You do not need to fill out a new membership form if your infor-mation has not changed. If it has changed, please use the form on the back page, fill it out, write a
check for $25 and mail it all to me. Remit to PCRWC.

HAPPENINGS AROUND PIMA COUNTY The Pima County GOP is sad to announce that the Executive
Director, Matthew Perez, has moved on to a position in the pri-
vate sector. Matt was an organized and friendly staff person and
represented the county well in his duties. We will miss him but
hope that since he is working in Sierra Vista we will still see him
remain active in politics. Good Luck Matt. Later this month the Party will also be moving the office from
the third floor to the first. For those of you who have still not
been to the HQ this won’t impact you but for us who have
spent the last year there it will be just one less elevator ride. If you are interested in working at the HQ please contact Bill
Beard as soon as possible. We are an all volunteer staff and
need your time, experience and help. Thank you —- Mary Preble,
Pima County Executive Committee Member

ALL HANDS ON DECK STANDING COMMITTEES TO
BE STAFFED
List of Committees not yet assigned a chairman:: Americanism, Budget, Bylaws, Legislative, Literacy,
Nominating, Publicity, Scholarship
I have given a brief description below.
Americanism—Will lead the Pledge of Allegiance at
our meetings or find a substitute for this privilege..
Will put together some educational piece or project
for our club’s benefit, i.e. lunch program or an article
of interest, or event in which we can participate.
Budget—Work to review prior years and make a
projected budget to present to the members.
Bylaws—Review our bylaws to ensure they still rep-
resent the organization. Make recommendations for
modifications, if necessary.
Legislative—Keep our club updated on current legis-
lative issues. This may be performed by writing an
article in our monthly newsletter recapping what is
going on at our State and Federal levels.
Literacy—Implementing complementary literacy pro-
grams as defined by AzFRW and NFRW. This may
mean finding appropriate books to donate to local
schools or groups.
Nominating—To review, with a committee, nominees
for leadership in PCRWC. This is done once per
year as we look forward to the next year’s officer
placement.
Publicity—Work to broadcast and publicize PCRWC
events in an effort to get more public turnout.
Scholarship—To follow AzFRW and NFRW’s lead on
scholarships to which this club will be contributing.
There are other Standing Committees but these are
the ones still Chairman-less. I will be reaching out to
the members to help fill these roles. We are fortu-
nate to have many experienced women who have
served in many capacities so we are looking for a
good mix of new members and some of us “has
beens” to step up and work side by side. Please vol-
unteer to mentor our next group of women. The
experience is so fulfilling.
