1 - 1. Applications :

• Non-freezing pillar fire hydrant with apparent outlets SAPHIR for connection

above ground of the mobile equipment of fire protection services on a

network under pressure.

• SAPHIR: Traffic type and non Traffic type Series A1 62.

• Public or private firefighting networks, under permanent pressure

or on request.

• For suction facilities, refer to our Intake Hydrants series A1 94 or A1 95.

• DN 80 to 150.

• Made in France since 1950 in Vénissieux, then in Meyzieu.

• Series according to European standards, outlets with French Standards:

- NF EN 14384.

- NF EN 1074 - 6.

- NF EN 14384/CN.

- Conformity certificate CE 0679 - CPR - 0213.

- NF label holder.

- Certified in conformity with UE N°305/2011 regulation.

1 - 3. Design: - Outlets with symmetric coupling (French Norm). - The DN 65 outlet has an Airclap cap (Fig. 1) letting the air in for

drainage. It also allows to check that the hydrant is not under pressure before opening the cap. A simple tap of your finger is enough to make it work and ensure the safety of users.

- Warning stickers are affixed on all caps. - Thermoplastic cover on cap for Saphir with reflective strips for increased

visibility at night. - Clockwise closing

- The specific design of the main valve guide is anti-water hammer and anti-vibration providing a smooth opening/closing (Fig. 2 and Fig. 10 Item 4 p5)

- The thick valve gasket helps the sealing even in presence of foreign bodies(Fig. 2 and Fig. 11 Item. 4 p5).

- No digging required to clean the drain thanks to a clever removable drain.

- Drain protection with the anti-root system 01 (Fig. 4).

- Duckfoot with loose flanges 02 (Fig. 4).

1 - 4. Performances:

• Low operating torque over time.

- Bubble tight shut-off.

- Non-freezing type.

- Kv above the norm (see table page 7).

• Anticorrosion protection:

- Upper barrel with internal and external epoxy coating, by cataphoresis +

red polyester paint with UV protection (RAL 3000).

• Easy to install:

- 360° Rotating upper part, degree by degree without diggingt (Fig. 5).

- It is possible to fit a BAYARD sleeve, between the seat and duckfoot,

to raise the hydrant during installation, (heights 0.05 - 0.15 and 0.25 cm)

(Fig. 6).

- A polystyrene packing, fully recyclable, pprotects the hydrant from any

projection during installation (Fig. 7). (DN 150 in wooden crate).

• Quick and easy commissioning:

- Suitable with universal Drainkit to ease drainage on DN 80 and 100, DN 150

(Fig. 8).

- Option: our drain is threaded and possibly funneled with a simple

connection, according to the site’s constraint (Fig. 9).

• Advantages of our range to reduce maintenance costs (Fig. 10 and 11) :

- Complete spare parts available. Interchangeability since 1971 with

past versions (for DN 80-100).

- Quick and easy dismantling of the upper operating set, through

the upper part.

- Quick and safe dismantling of the lower operating set.

- Removable drain whithout digging.

- Extension sleeve kit of 0.20 m after installation, without digging on

DN 80 (2016) and 100 (>2003).

- Conversion of a non traffic hydrant into a traffic version

(traffic) without digging with the mini kit CHOC (Fig.11 Item 6).

• Our fire hydrant is eco-friendly:

- 99% of its components are recyclable.

- Our PSE (polystyrene) packing is made of 2% of recycled material

and 98% of air.

It needs very little energy to manufacture, is 100% recyclable for life by

grinding, compaction and extrusion of PES granules.

Security and environment:• Installation, maintenance and repair operations must comply

with the local regulations in force, relating to safety at work and respect for the environment.

• Insist that workers wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. Make sure that the lifting accessories and power tools used comply with the regulations in force. Enforce their terms of use.

• Installation, maintenance and repair work will be carried out by qualified, trained and authorized personnel in accordance with current legislation.

• From an environmental point of view, the device is recyclable. Advise to deposit the packaging in a recovery container.

Implementation:• The specifications for the supply, installation and reception of

fire hydrants must refer to standard NF S 62-200.

• Installation, commissioning and maintenance are described in the manual W18022 supplied with the hydrant.

• Our fire hydrants are protected in their polystyrene packing for DN 80 and 100 and in wooden crates fort DN 150, which preserve paint during installation.

Storage and handling:• Store the device lying down, elbow facing down, for a maximum

of one year, at a temperature not exceeding 65 ° C and protected from shocks.

• Handle it with care in its packaging. Lifting for installation is possible by means of a strap passed through the packaging or under the outlets.

Control and maintenance:• The control and maintenance of fire hydrants is described in

standard NF S 62-200.
