    Dynamic Design and EditingThe user-friendly, customisable P&ID

    tool tray provides access to dynamicand configurable tools for creatinglines, determining line crossovers andline flow direction; for filtering,loading, placing, manipulating andediting symbols; for adding branch,symbol and line bore texts; for placingon- and off-sheet connectors; and forcreating vendor, responsibility, andpipe specification break symbols.Move selected symbols dynamically,and the system will automaticallymaintain existing connections.

    Intelligent DiagramsMEDUSA4 P&ID provides a largeselection of process and instrumentsupply line types, as well as non-labelled lines. The software offerscatalogs of intelligent, customisablesymbols for P&ID in-line equipmentand instrumentation, includingdedicated collections of symbols forcreating flow diagrams for processplants in accordance with EN ISO10628 and ISO 3511. You canposition all types of symbols anywhereon the diagram, and include important

    process information (such as pipe boresize and specification) using freelyconfigurable line and symbolproperties.

    Design VerificationThe design verification tool supportsyour quality assurance processes,allowing you to automatically checkyour diagrams for design errorsagainst P&ID-specific design rules. Thetool also supports multi-sheet

    scanning. Errors are displayed in adialog and highlighted in the designitself.

    Reuse of P&ID Data in 2Dand 3D DesignsThe intelligent diagrams created withMEDUSA4 P&ID can be used in your2D and 3D design environments. Tightintegration with all MPDS4 add-onmodules means that your P&IDdiagrams can be used as the basis ofMPDS4 3D designs and subsequent2D layouts.

    You can cross-check your P&IDsagainst the 3D world, and thenautomatically load those P&IDcomponents not yet included in your3D plant design into the appropriateposition. In MPDS4 PIPING, forexample, you can route the plannedpipes in 3D, then cross-check themagainst your P&ID data. This ensuresthat the resulting 2D drawings or 3Dmodels use only the exact number andtype of components contained in yourP&IDs.

    Parts Lists and Reports

    You can easily create, customise,export or print reports and parts listsfrom the design data contained in yourdiagrams.

    Integration with External SystemsMEDUSA4 P&ID can be integratedwith external databases, allowing youto incorporate data from other systemsinto your designs, and to pushmaterial lists from the P&ID to ERPand PLM systems.
