It’s easy to see why so many people are proud to call Perth home! Not only is there a rich history and vibrant cultural and recreational lifestyle engrained in the town landscape, there is access to all amenities! The Perth and District Union Library is a well-visited centre in downtown Perth. The library serves the Town of Perth and surrounding townships, as well as seasonal residents and tourists, offering book service, children’s programs and internet access!

Perth is a family-friendly town, and parents can send their children to one of the many elementary and high schools operated by the public and Catholic school boards.

The town’s recreational facilities are aplenty, as the Town of Perth operates the Perth Community Centre and Swimming Pool as well as the Conlon Farm Recreation Park.

The community centre has an ice pad and is host to a packed schedule with youth and adult figure skating and hockey programs on offer as well as public skating sessions!

The pool is a 25-metre facility and programs include youth and adult swim lessons, water aerobics and public swims. Canadian Olympian Mike Brown grew up in Perth and spent hours perfecting his athletic talent in the local pool!

Baseball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts, a skateboarding park and children’s playground make up the Conlon Farm Recreation Park, and it is a popular community hub!

The Rideau Canal was recently named one of UNESCO’s world heritage sites. Still in operation, it allows boaters to travel from Ottawa to Kingston on the water through a 202km long canal. The Rideau Canal has 46 locks that are still operated with a hand crank to turn the 20 ton wooden doors. Some lock stations can raise boats 60 feet with man and water power. Come check out the historic museums, black smith shop and many other heritage attraction along with Rideau Canal and enjoy the ice cream! The town of Smiths Falls is also home to the Rideau Canal museum and is known as the heart of the Rideau!

The Town of Smiths Falls is seeking the professional services of up to eight family physicians to complement the existing four Family Physicians presently working at the Cornelia Court Medical Centre located at 91 Cornelia Court in Smiths Falls.

All Family Physicians must be willing to have hospital privileges.

The newly expanded and remodeled facility is a turnkey facility located directly across the street from the Smiths Falls Site of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital. The Centre is scheduled for completion in December 2012 and offers all family physicians a new practice environment at a set monthly rate of $1,200.00 /month, which is frozen for ten years and operated under a Family Health Organization (FHO) management model.

Smiths Falls has been faced with a severe shortage of family physicians since the recent passing of a long-time physician in the community and several retirements. There is a significant physician/patient caseload available to support the needs of any interested medical graduate or experienced Family Physician. Smiths Falls offers a quality of life that is the envy of many and real estate costs that are nearly half the price of a comparable home within one hour of the community.

The community is proud of its existing complement of Family Physicians and the mentorship and experience that each of the Cornelia Court medical team bring to the Centre simply makes the Cornelia Court Medical Centre the practice location of choice!

Finding a new turnkey option for your practice isn’t an easy chore these days, but in Sensational Smiths Falls we make your lifestyle and business practice choices easy. Sensational Smiths Falls Come for a Day…… Stay for the Lifestyle!
