Welcome to the Phoenix South Mountain Kroc Center“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.”2 Corinthians 2:9

any greetings! We would like to take just a moment of your time to thank you for making us feel so welcome here at the Kroc Center during our first few months as Corps Officers. To say that we have had a “warm” welcome would be an understatement – and not only because of the weather! This is a truly special place in a truly special community and it is absolutely our pleasure to be a part of it.

We also would like to thank you for being a part of our Kroc community. However you are involved, be it membership, swim lessons, youth sports leagues, fitness classes, Church at the Kroc, and/or any of the other myriad of activities and programs we have to offer, you are an integral part of this place. If you have not yet taken advantage of the many opportunities here at the Kroc Center, we encourage you to join in the fun! You will not find a better or more affordable place for you and your family to reach your God given potential. It is our deepest desire that, as a part of our community, you experience the love of Jesus Christ and the fullness of a relationship with Him. Our goal is for you to see and feel His love at work in everything we do here.

Finally, we do not anyone to simply be “a face in the crowd” here at the Kroc Center. When you spot us somewhere around the facility or in the community, please take a minute to chat with us and share your experience. We want to get to know you! Your story is invaluable to the story of The Salvation Army Kroc Center. Tell us how we’ve helped or even how we can do better. Once again, thank you for making us feel at home and please, enjoy this place!

Sincerely, Majors Gwyn Edward and AnnMarguerite Jones

ABOUT THE SALVATION ARMY

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865.

Nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a wide array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. About 83 cents of every dollar raised is used to support those services in nearly 9,000 communities nationwide.

Did you know The Salvation Army is a church?

Page 21: Phoenix kroc center activity book Fall 2016

SUNDAY WORSHIPAt The Kroc Corps (church) you’ll find a relaxed, casual, and friendly atmosphere; a group of people who learn and grow together, exploring what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

MID–WEEK PROGRAMS

VOLUNTEER & SERVICE OPPORTUNITIESJesus says, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me… as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” Believers in Christ are called to reach out and bring love and aid to those who are hurting. We offer weekly and monthly opportunities to do just that–and you are invited! Please contact Matt Downsat 602-425-5010 if you are interested. Church
