will be

looking forward to

spending

our time sharing with

the northern states

year

were in Georgia and

Florida; so this will be

very first time in the

Harry has

he's much

Fhipps have

been missionaries to

Italy

since

1953i

specializing

preachers,

can't answer

all of yotir

letters personally as

yet, so please

get back

into the

swing of

the office

routine.

I am just

about

finished

with

the first

series of

cobalt treat

ments

and

then

the

Doctors will decide whether

I

need

further

series or not. The temperature has been

in the high

ninties

for days now and the

trip to

Rome each

day

for

my

treatment

has

been rather

trying.

There is no

place closer that gives

this

therapy

so

about

five

hours a day are spent

on

the round trip

and

treatment.

The

Lord

has

been so

good

in

caring

for both

of

us in many,

many

ways. Charles has been burdened with

much

extra

work

be

cause

of

my inability

to

work

in

the office but he

has

been

strengthened and lifted by

your

prayers.

Please

keep praying

It has been

a

long time since you have had a letter from us but

ve

know

you

understand

all the

reasons.

Mary Frances

is

not able to

use

her arm

very much

and both the surgeon

and

medical

doctor

said that typing was

one

of

the worst things

she

could do. This has limited her office

work

a

great deal. She will

have

new X-rays made the second week in January

and the

suirgeon

said

it

was very likely she will have to have more cobalt

treatments.

However,

we praise the Lord that

they

are available.

X

am getting along

very well, limping

instead

of running,

but

my

ankle

where

the worst breaks were has mended

very

well as

did

the shin bone.

I

have finished

with the

therapy treatments

which I

had

to take

to re

educate the muscles that lay dormant

for

84 days while I was in the

casts. I

cannot

flex

my

foot fully which causes the limp. It

will

no

doubt

be a

permanent

limp

but

the Lord was

so

good

to send

the blessings

which He did

and

saved me from many worse things

that

could have

happened

We

have asked

"Why"?

all

of

these

trials

came but we have

seen

a

real

growth

among the

Christians when they

had to take

a lot

of the respon

sibility to

see

that the services were conducted and so on. Giuseppe

and Rosetta

have

been

burdened with much of the work since

Maz^y

Frances

and I have

been limited, but they

have done everything

so

willingly and

with

such dedication

that

it has been

beautiful

to see.

The

radio response, now

that we

are

on

Trans World

Radio, has

been

in

creasingly encouraging. We do thank the

Lord

for this opportunity

to

get His Word out to the people in Europe

who speak

and/or "understand

English.

We are

so

thankful that through these many difficulties the

Lord

has pro

vided

us

with opportunities

to

witness that we would not have had other

wise:

doctors, nurses,

technicians in the hospitals

and also to

the many

people who came to call on

us.

Among

them was

a young business man here

in Terracina who came almost every day

to

see me when

I was flat

on

my

back with the full length cast.

I

will baptize him on Christmas Day,

He

has

been

witnessing

to his

brother and others and it

would not sur

prise

us

if his

brother

also will be baptized.

We

send you our greetings at

this

holiday season

and

ask your continued

prayers. Thank you for your support
