Does Phi Kappa Theta haze? Phi Kappa Theta believes in building a strong brotherhood, and this does not include hazing. At Phi Kappa Theta, HAZING IS NOT TOLERATED! Phi Kappa Theta was founded on Christian principles and will continue to operate on those principles. All members are aware that hazing is not acceptable conduct for any person to inflict on others. Each member has a personal responsibility not to condone any sort of hazing. However, like everything in life, it will take hard work and effort to become a member of Phi Kappa Theta. What are the time commitments? All members of Phi Kappa Theta are expected to attend weekly chapter meetings every Sunday, and new members are required to attend an 8 week program to learn more about the Fraternity and what it takes to become a member. Going through the new member process is not a permanent commitment and you will be allowed to drop if you feel that the Fraternity is not for you. Although this will be an extra commitment, you will find that becoming a member is something you will have fun doing. How will the Fraternity affect my grades? Phi Kappa Theta is here to help you develop as a student. Every Monday the scholarship chair will hold a 2 hour study sessions for all members to take advantage of. Phi Kappa Theta will also cover all fees involved with tutoring. Most members have found themselves achieving better grades than when they haven’t lived in the house. Phi Kappa Theta’s academics have consistently ranked in the top half of all fraternities, and in 2010 we received an award for the best new member GPA. How much is Phi Kappa Theta involved campus and the community? At Phi Kappa Theta, we pride ourselves on our involvement both on campus and in the community. Each semester, the Fraternity holds a philanthropy to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network. We also participate in Relay for Life, highway cleanups, and Food at First. The Fraternity also participates in a wide range of intramurals, all completely paid for by the house. Additionally, members are encouraged to get more involved with campus activities by joining clubs and other organizations on campus, attending lectures and musical events, as well as supporting the athletic program by attending basketball, football, and hockey games.
