Phases of the MoonCrescent Moon

The time from the Crescent Moon to First Quarter is when you can develop deep confidence in yourself. You’ll be very aware ofyour own limitations, but at the same time, are given an opportunity to turn them into strengths. It’s important that you are clear about what you are striving for. Falling back into old habits could be easy, especially if you have to deal with people who prefer you stay the way you are. The Crescent Moon is about growth and honoring your intentions, not about retreatinginto the past. Persistence pays off, so be willing to get out of your comfort zone if you are serious about pursuing your dream. In the process, you can get in touch with your potential, developing a fundamental belief in yourself not tied to approval from anyone. This frees you to be completely authentic and

form genuine relationships based on values you believe in. If you can get past the inertiaand pushback that life is capable of, you’ll strengthen your resolve and learn to honor your potential and integrity. First Quarter Moon

The First Quarter has half of its surface illuminated by the Sun, symbolically representing the role you play in other people’s lives. You regard yourself as a unique person, separate from other people, with your own set of needs and desires. Yet, sensitivity to other people’s feelings can be just as strong, causing all sorts of challenges during this time. You feel drawn to them and want to show how much you care. At the same time, you shouldn’t forget you have your own life and need to express what you feel and think.Much emotional maturity is possible in this phase, as you begin to appreciate what makes you different and what you want from other

people and from life itself. Moodiness and a desire to withdraw often surface during this time, as a result of all the personal choices you have to make. Taking care of other people needs as well as taking care of your own needs is usually the root of most problems during the First Quarter phase. You’re learning to open your heart, carefully at first, developing a powerful intuition about yourself and other people. Eventually, by finding what’s special about yourself, you will come to know your place in the world as well.

Gibbous Moon With the Gibbous Moon, distractions from the outside begin pressing into your world. You want to move into your own power and express your creative potential, but first you must be willing to develop a better understanding of what’s involved. Analysis is favored, as is reevaluating all the various factors you are dealing with. It’s a time to process information and effectively integrate your aims with the people in your life. This is a good time for organizing things. This Moon phase is suited for synthesis: coming up with a practical plan to manifest what you want. Adjustment, as well as sensitivity, is required. This phase is about

refining, fine-tuning, and tuning in. What you have begun may seem ready, but it can

Phases of the Moonprobably be made a lot better. Should you find yourself encountering glitches in your plans, it might be that you need to put more energy into rethinking and focusing on what you are doing.

Full Moon Everything comes to the surface under the Full Moon, emotions that have been held back, things that were not said, and behaviors that were not seen before. The Full Moon puts everything into a much bigger context, usually a social one, so everyone involved gets involved and has a chance to weigh in. Full Moon personality types are very aware of appearances and often try to be all things to all people. However, this time is really about clarifying some principle or belief and being able tocommunicate it back to the world. For many people, it could be a commitment to the role they take with their families and

children. For others, it could be their business, political or spiritual ties. Regardless of what it is, the Full Moon type looks for something deeply relevant in order to define who they are. They are usually quite capable of seeing both sides of an issue because they focus on the underlying principles. You might find yourself having to struggle with ambiguity, and afterwards taking a position and defending it. Social appearances are important at this time. Guard against feeling lost when excluded or misunderstood.

Disseminating Moon The Disseminating Moon comes some 3 to 4 days after Full. The light of the Moon is starting to diminish, signaling a time to shareyour deepest experiences and discover ways to communicate them in a dramatic way. It is a time of transformation and release, moving away from idealism and towards having to put your idealism on display. You begin to see the impact your thoughts and emotions have in your own life and how they affectother people as well. You are compelled to share them, and take in what other people have to share. If you have a message to get out, now is the time. If others are talking, listen to what theyhave to say. Study, learn, and absorb ideas and information.

This is an excellent time for socializing, teaching, promoting, and charity work. It's also perfect for attending classes and workshops, making friends whom you connect to on anintellectual level, or exploring other cultures. Learn and diversify, and keep an open mind.

Last Quarter Moon The Last Quarter Moon comes when it’s time to pull up rootsand move on. It doesn’t make any difference if you’ve at the top of your game or not. You need a new challenge. Staying where you are will only spell disappointment. Last Quarter personality types often know how to bridge the gap between the old and the new, and have a grasp of how some old set of conditions has now evolved into the next stage. They have a broad vision, and can apply universal ideas to specific situations. It’s essential for you to explore new directions under this influence. Last Quarter personalitytypes are often stoic, quietly working at modifying their

Phases of the Moonbehavior, only to emerge completely changed to the surprise of all. They sense some deeper purpose in everyday life and will often try to initiate meaningful change through their work. They are persistent, and it’s their desire to be authentic that drives them to reinvent themselves. They need to leave the past behind, and focus on something that isnew and more relevant.

Balsamic Moon The Balsamic Moon comes at the end of the lunar cycle, when the last light of the Sun is captured on the Moon’s surface. This is a time of reflection and inner wisdom, whereunresolved issues come to the surface and need to be released. Forgiveness and compassion are the principle virtues of this phase, along with a deep understanding of human nature with all its strengths and weaknesses. Balsamic types are often concerned with causes and injustices and prefer to operate out of the spotlight. Their greatest struggles are internalized, and often involve issues

of attachment to the past or their own egos. They are able to see the universal in the particular and can have trouble forming healthy boundaries in their relationships. They are imaginative and artistic rather than logical and rational. Their intuition guides them in ways that require great sensitivity and intuition and not everyone appreciates their loyalty and compassion. They are spiritual and impressionable and periodically need timeto withdraw and reflect on life.
