permaculture - itÕs all in your head

“What is Permaculture?” is the question we hear again and again. Perhaps the more important question is “Why Permaculture?” This introductory class will be an in-depth exploration of the ethical foundation at the root of the permaculture movement. After all, Bill Mollison says “Permaculture begins with an ethic: Care of earth and all living systems”. Sounds like “Aloha aina” to us. And to be “pono” is to live an ethical life... Of course, embracing an ethical belief is only the beginning. “Thought Into Action” determines the path forward. The real definition of Permaculture revolves around the innovative thoughts held by disciplined individuals Thoughts are the root, the source, and the key. The door can be opened. It must be. The illusion we see is that Permaculture tends to be identified as a random series of actions - alter the landscape, compost here, plant something there, etc. But what about the internal landscape that chooses these actions? Permaculture identifies a number of specific techniques of thought, of manipulating our personal internal landscape, that form the basis of ALL future actions. Actions are, well, just the details along The Path To Solution. Finding The Path is the domain of those who think correctly. What do you THINK? That IS the question. We!ll explore: •PATTERN THINKING •NON-LINEAR OPEN SYSTEMS •OBSERVATION - PURE & SIMPLE •THE PROBLEM IS THE SOLUTION •WORK WHERE IT COUNTS or LIFE ON THE EDGE •INFORMATION INTENSIVE vs ENERGY INTENSIVE •MIDNITE IN THE GARDEN OF PRINCIPLES & RULES •THE PRESERVER OF ABUNDANCE IS EXCELLENCE •THE DESIGN IS NEVER DONE or TIME- THE 4TH DIMENSION The wolrld-wide Permaculture community has standardized the full Permaculture Design Course (PDC) as a 72 hour class.

We!ll explore:

•PATTERN THINKING•NON-LINEAR OPEN SYSTEMS•OBSERVATION - PURE & SIMPLE•THE PROBLEM IS THE SOLUTION•WORK WHERE IT COUNTS or LIFE ON THE EDGE•INFORMATION INTENSIVE vs ENERGY INTENSIVE•MIDNITE IN THE GARDEN OF PRINCIPLES & RULES•THE PRESERVER OF ABUNDANCE IS EXCELLENCE•THE DESIGN IS NEVER DONE or TIME- THE 4TH DIMENSION

The wolrld-wide Permaculture community has standardized the full Permaculture Design Course (PDC) as a 72 hour class. It is very often taught as a two-week intensive.“It!s All In Your Head” is Part 1 of a 12-part series. The 12 6-hour classes will complete the full PDC. Classes will cycle & repeat.

Hands-On Volunteer Learning Day

--Workshop Tuition $75--Limited Seating!

Pre-payment required!

Since learning principles of Permaculture Design from Bill Mollison in 1981, Dano & Robin Gorsich have explored and created innovative techniques of low-tech, sustainable food production.

Combining poultry forage systems, intensive time-stacked vegetable guilds, and perennial polyculture food forests, they have delivered over 20,000 custom-packed boxes of “home-delivery” produce.

Working an off-road, hike-in, no-tractor, “postage-stamp-size” farm, their ma&pa operation yields a continuous & hugely varied supply of fresh produce.

1,000 consecutive weeks of home-deliveries would suggest that they have learned what works, what doesn!t work, and how to get maximum results with minimal effort. What!s the point of pulling weeds?

Ready to learn? Prerequisites? An open mind!

This workshop will combine chalk-and-talk, in-garden & food-forest demos, and hands-on get-dirty. BE PREPARED for out-of-the box thinking and rule-bashing. The Problem IS the Solution, right?
