You must provide a copy of relevant registration papers for exhibits and membership for all entrants in Native Pony classes AND if you wish to be included for Welsh,

RING 1 – RIDDEN CHALLENGE (am) & WORKING HUNTERS (after Ridden Challenge) Entry fee for rings 1 & 2: 1st class $20 and $15 for each subsequent class per exhibit

Judges: Mrs Kerry Geyer, Victoria and Mr Darrin Phillis, SA

The entrants are judged by 2 judges, one judge will

judge the entrants under saddle for manners, paces

& workout, the other in hand for conformation and

adherence to the breed standards.

The entrants will all work under saddle on the ring

together initially as per a standard saddle class, with

approx. a circle each of walk, trot & canter. All entrants will then line up.

The entrants present one at a time to the saddle judge & perform the standard ridden native pony workout.

Upon finishing the standard ridden workout, each

entrant returns to the lineup up where the horse is

immediately stripped by the strapper. The entrants then present immediately to the in hand judge

to complete the standard in hand workout.

The exhibit is re-saddled by the strapper and rejoins the

Any pony / horse eliminated or disqualified will not be

required again.

*Maximum Height - Not all fences will be set at

Maximum height for nominated class, but a minimum

If a pony/horse jumps the incorrect fence it will be

Ring 5 – Open Unaffiliated/Encourage TBA 8.30 am Start in ALL RINGS Venue: Strathalbyn Polo Grounds, Strathalbyn

1. ALL competitors in Ring 1 & 2 must either be a SHC-SA Inc. member or member of another SHC

affiliate (e.g. HIA Comp Assoc) at the time of competition. Ring 1 & 2 competitors can be day

members upon paying their fee but only count for that day of competition. Ring 3 Competitors need to

be $10 day members and complete the day waiver form to compete.

2. Riders must wear approved hats (ASNZ 3838 / EN 1384) and boots at all times while riding. 3. The judge’s decision is final – there is to be no approach to the judge unless authorised by the convener

or steward.

4. Liability: Neither the organising committee, the SHC nor the owners/lessees of the venue accept any

liability for accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, persons or property

whatsoever. Horse Riding is a dangerous sport and competitors ride at their own risk.

5. No stallions or colts permitted on the show grounds.

6. Catering will be available on the day by Metropolitan Show Jump Club Canteen 7. Protests must be lodged in writing, together with a $50.00 deposit, no later than half an hour after the

incident which gives rise to the dispute. The deposit will be refunded only if the protest is upheld.

8. Entries can ONLY compete as either Show Hack or Show Hunter for the season 1/1/15 – 31/12/15 with

SHC-SA and HIA Comp. Assoc. Shows. Only then can competitors change sections if they wish. This

is ruling from SHC of Aust. Inc.

9. Gates will be open from 6.30am 10. Winners of Champion or Reserve Champion in the Show Hack & Show Hunter Ridden section are

reminded that they now qualify for competition in the “SHC Classic Classes” at the 2015 SHC-SA

Rising Star Show

11. HOT WEATHER POLICY: Please check the forecasted temp for the Sun 03/08/14 if over 33 degrees

on Sat night on channel 9 the show will be cancelled. To make the show run faster in the hotter months

some classes may be judged on the circle. Please be sun smart & sensible when showing in the warmer

weather.

NEWCOMER DEFINITION – Horse that is in its first season (12mths of competition under saddle) – can’t

have been shown prior to 1st January 2015.

CHILDS MOUNT – For riders under 17yrs in the relevant sections. Childs Shetland – rider 14yrs & under.
