P-CUT –greater harvesting output with lower diesel consumption.

P-CUT – no compromises.

When it comes to mowing bar technology, CLAAS makes no compromises. All DISCO mowers with working widths of 2.60–9.10 metres come equipped with the P-CUT mowing bar as standard, which facilitates clean forage harvesting while also saving power and fuel.

Greater harvesting output…

P-CUT mowing bars save on fuel consumption. Savings of up to 16 percent are demonstrable, with PTO shaft speed reduced to 850 rpm with no impairment of mowing quality. For greater output in dense crops, the PTO speed can be increased to 1,000 rpm.

…with lower diesel consumption.

An indentation on the underside of the mowing bar effectively prevents stripes being left on the field and the pointed shape allows the grass stubble to brush the mowing bar clean, keeping the sensitive area of the cut clean at all times.

7

SAFETY LINK – playing it safe.

Defined shear points on each disc protect the drive unit from overload. Upon activation of the SAFETY LINK module, the discs are brought to an immediate standstill, and remain bolted to the bar after shearing off to prevent them from flying off. The main drive retains its ability to rotate, protecting the assembly.

A shorn-off SAFETY LINK module can be replaced in just a few minutes.

8

Well equipped.

DISCO mowers are designed to withstand extreme and continuous stresses, and P-CUT mowing bars therefore incorporate only high-strength components.

Solid construction.

The bolted transmission housing ensures the necessary base stability to support the reinforced steel skids, while hardox inserts strengthen the clearance between the skids.A tungsten-carbide coating, as used on excavator shovels, is applied to the front edge of the blade holders to provide effective protection against wear. Further protection from wear is afforded to all components by the strippers beneath the mowing discs. Wear skids are optionally available to protect the mowing bar.

9

Dependable drive.

24-mm-gauge reinforced steel gears transfer the drive power efficiently to the mowing discs. This diameter, the largest on the market, ensures that a large number of teeth are engaged at all times for maximum smoothness of operation, dependable power transfer and a long service life. Each mowing disc is driven separately via an upstream pinion. The broad overlap of the cutting discs produces a uniform chop quality. Hermetically sealed angular compact ball bearings, as used in automotive applications, ensure optimal smoothness of operation and durability.

Quick blade change.

Simply use the fitting lever to replace the blades in no time at all. A weatherproof blade box provides convenient storage for replacement blades.

Built tough.

ACTIVE FLOAT – fuel-saving mowers.

Frictional resistance becomes rolling resistance.

At CLAAS, all mower unit models are available with ACTIVE FLOAT hydropneumatic suspension. The suspension system transfers the weight of the mower unit from the grass sward to the tractor. This enables the frictional resistance encountered during the mowing process to be converted effectively into fuel-saving rolling resistance. Additionally, side drift on slopes is reduced and driving comfort increased.

The result:• 20 percent less fuel consumption• 17 percent less foreign material content in forage

The right setting – always.

The suspension pressure can be adapted to the conditions from the comfort of the cab, even with mowing under way. The set value is indicated via the easily visible pressure gauge. As a rule of thumb, the suspension should be set as high as possible; the load should be restricted to what is absolutely necessary.Full suspension of the mower unit is particularly recommended when mowing at field edges. This allows the unit effectively to "hover" over the uneven ground at the edge of the field.

11

ACTIVE FLOAT – suspension that pays off.

An independent test has demonstrated a considerable fuel saving of up to 20 percent with ACTIVE FLOAT suspension. Diesel consumption can be reduced by up to a further 16 percent by reducing the speed of the PTO shaft to 850 rpm. The foreign material content can also be cut by up to 17 percent with increased suspension, allowing you to not only reduce fuel costs, but also boost your milk production by up to 200 litres per hectare.

Experience in the field.

"The grass cover remains intact, with no crop contamination."- Johann Steltzl (left), Steinach, Lower Bavaria, Germany

"The suspension, which can be adjusted even while driving, comes into its own when it comes to mowing particularly damp spots. I was able to adjust the ground pressure immediately and run over these spots cleanly."

- Christoph Wissling (right), Ahlen, Westphalia, Germany

12

Save time.

Conditioner mowers allow you to cut the wilting and drying time of the crop considerably, enabling you to make effective use of narrow harvesting windows. Additionally, valuable time is saved by reducing turning operations. CLAAS therefore offers all mower unit models with working widths of 2.60–9.10 metres with a tine and roller conditioner.

Tine conditioner.

For grass harvesting, CLAAS offers tine conditioners with spirally arranged, V-shaped tines. The conditioning intensity is set by alternating between the soft and aggressive sides of the tines via the baffle plate, or in many models through two different conditioner speeds. The tines are flexibly mounted, which allows them to give way and pass around objects such as stones that inadvertently enter the conditioner.

Two options are recommended for depositing the crop:

• Loose deposition across the full working width with wide crop spreader

• Deposition with variable swath widths through adjustable swathing plates

13

The faster way to the field.

Wide spreading.

To ensure the crop is conditioned consistently throughout and spread loosely over the grass stubble, the conditioners extend across the full working width – up to the market’s widest mowing bar width of 3.40 metres.

Gentle conditioning.

Leafy crops such as alfalfa require gentle conditioning. The aim is to crush the stalks without destroying the nutritious leaves and thus wasting them. This is where the DISCO mower unit with roller conditioner comes into its own.The V-shaped meshing rollers crush the hard stalks while preserving the nutritious leaves. The conditioning intensity can be set by adjusting the distance between the two rollers. Adjustable swathing plates facilitate swath formation. The rollers are spring-mounted for protection against foreign objects.

DISCO mower combinations.

16

Simply outstanding.

As wide as they come.

When it comes to mower combinations, CLAAS offers the most comprehensive range on the market, with working widths of 8.10–9.10 metres as front-mounted variants, or as front/rear combinations with or without conditioner or swath-depositing belt. CLAAS has the ideal machine, whatever the requirements.

Solid construction.

The highly robust and very clear construction of our machines never fails to impress. Equipped with high-quality, solid components, our mower units are optimally designed for non-stop operation. Hydraulic components are integrated into the rugged chassis for added protection. On models with conditioners, two hole positions on the mower units give you the choice between a larger working width or greater overlap.

ACTIVE FLOAT.

All mower combinations are equipped with ACTIVE FLOAT hydropneumatic mower suspension as standard. Additionally, the mower units are castor-mounted at the centre of gravity to enable them to move freely and follow the ground contours appropriately. To achieve the optimal swivel angle, the lower linkages must be configured accordingly. Arrow markers on the mowers indicate the correct height in this respect.

17

Well protected.

Overload protection prevents damage to the mower when an obstacle is encountered. The 15° angle of the linkage ensures the mower unit is raised over the obstable effectively. Backing up briefly is all that is required to get going again.

Compact folding.

To reduce the transport height to below 4.00 metres, the protective side covers on the DISCO 9100 are mechanically, or, if required, hydraulically foldable. On the road, the mower units are secured in place mechanically via a catch. After use, all mower combinations can be stored in the transport position to save space.

Professional – the DUO family.

20

The widest on the market.

Maximum efficiency across 9.10 metres.

With the DISCO 9300 and 8600, CLAAS offers the widest front-mounted mowers available. With working widths of 9.10 and 8.30 metres respectively, these machines deliver maximum efficiency for professional grassland-based operations. With very little distance between the tractor and attached mower unit, the operator has an excellent view of the machinery and crop stand ahead. Axle loads are reduced and driving comfort increased.

ACTIVE FLOAT.

In front-mounted mower combinations, the front mower unit also comes equipped with ACTIVE FLOAT suspension as standard. The suspension pressure for each mower unit can be separately adjusted to the prevailing conditions from the comfort of the cab.

Ready in an instant.

To speed up the crop-drying process, each model comes equipped with tine or roller conditioner as standard.

21

Flexible.

The mower can be converted to a front/rear combination for use on a standard tractor in no time at all.

Everything under control.

With LS comfort hydraulics, all functions can be performed directly via the CLAAS STANDARD TERMINAL. What’s more, in the event of a drop in the speed of the mower units, the driver is alerted to the situation visually and acoustically. The driver has everything under control at all times, and can thus exploit the machine’s performance capacity to the full. As an option, the mower unit can also be operated via the COMMUNICATOR II or any other ISOBUS-compatible terminal, with all key functions, for instance, programmable on the tractor’s joystick. The ISOBUS control furthermore allows the hectare output to be accurately recorded and documented directly via the order printer.

Faster mowing with conditioner.

Powerful alternatives.

The DISCO 9100 and 8400 with tine or roller conditioner are the front/rear mower combinations for professional operations. With working widths of 9.10 and 8.30 metres, respectively, these machines represent a formidable alternative to reverse-drive mowers.

Save on fuel while protecting the ground.

With ACTIVE FLOAT hydropneumatic suspension, a large proportion of the weight of the mower can be transferred to the tractor wheels. Frictional resistance generated through mowing is converted efficiently to rolling resistance, and the residual ground pressure is equivalent to that of a mower combination without conditioner. The ground is protected and the forage kept clean.

25

Spread the crop wide while saving time.

To make harvesting even more efficient, mower units can be equipped with a tine conditioner with a wide crop spreader. By spreading the forage across the entire working width of the mower, fewer turning manoeuvres are required, and the desired swath shape can be set without the use of tools.

Gentle conditioning.

Leafy crop types such as alfalfa are treated particularly gently by the V-shaped rollers. These crush the hard stalks while preserving the nutritious leaves. The rollers span the full mower width for consistent crop conditioning. Baffle plates allow for adjustment of the mowed swath width.

26

Agile.

With the DISCO mower combinations without conditioner, CLAAS offers two high-performance mowers for smaller-sized tractors. Working widths of 8.10 and 8.90 metres, respectively, allow you to virtually double the mower output you’d expect from a front/rear combination. The lightweight construction combined with ACTIVE FLOAT hydropneumatic suspension allows the mower combination to be driven at a low rate of fuel consumption. These mowers therefore represent a viable alternative for small and medium-sized farms.

High performance, low power demand.

At the push of a button.

Operation is via the CLAAS STANDARD TERMINAL (CST). The simple push of a button is all it takes to activate the (individual) lifting function of the mower units or to configure the ACTIVE FLOAT hydropneumatic mower suspension. Each of these functions is handled via a single-acting spool valve. The automatic button overrides the manual individual mower lifting preset. When mowing triangular areas or lifting or lowering the second mower unit, the operator does not need to use the CST.

Eighteen metres in a single swath.

Bulk quantities.

With the DISCO 9100 C AUTOSWATHER, CLAAS offers a professional mower combination for contactors, large farms and biogas facility operators. The mower has been specially developed for grass harvesting and the harvesting of biomass such as green rye or triticale.

18 to 12 – greater forage harvester performance.

The combination of a 9.10-metre working width and individually folding conveyor units affords greater flexibility during harvesting. In addition to depositing a single swath, by raising one of the conveyor units an 18.00-metre working width can be laid over just 12.00 metres when working back and forth. In combination with the LINER 3500, which features a 12.50-metre working width, this enables an 18.00-metre working width to be deposited in a single swath. Experience in the field has shown this to boost forage harvesting performance by up to 40 percent.

DISCO 9100 C AUTOSWATHER

31

Play it safe.

To prevent loss of material when transporting the harvested crop to the conveyor units, the mower is equipped with an enclosed conditioner tank. This enables the crop to be gathered by the conditioner tines without loss, and subsequently deposited in a swath.

BELT BOOST.

With the mower units raised at the headlands, the feed belt speed is automatically increased to the maximum setting. As a result, the swath density is increased rather than the swath width, and the swath is picked up by the harvesting machine following behind.

32

The safe way to travel.

Hydraulic breakback protection protects the mower from damage to the mowing bar. The 15° inclination of the linkage ensures that the mower unit is raised over obstacles effectively in the event of a collision. To get going again, all it takes is the simple press of a button in the COMMUNICATOR II or to quickly raise the mower back into the headland position.

Operation – child’s play.

With LS comfort hydraulics, all functions can be performed directly via the COMMUNICATOR II. What's more, ISOBUS operation enables the hectare output and in-field time to be accurately recorded with or without the conveyor units engaged. The data can be printed out via the order printer for documentation purposes.

DISCO 9100 C AUTOSWATHER

“Robust, yet compact.”

A hit with users.

Jens Gustav Svengaard is a contractor in Braedstrup, Denmark. His customer base is largely made up of dairy farms, and he covers an average of around 2,000 hectares annually. He uses a DISCO 9100 C AUTOSWATHER to boost his output in grass harvesting.

“The machine is extremely well made and highly compact. The mowing bar, too, makes an extremely robust impression and delivers excellent chop quality. The machine’s swath grouping performance is simply outstanding, with no losses. It produces a beautiful swath, ideal in shape and width, whether for baling or for the JAGUAR. “Flexibility in the field is something we value greatly in this machine, and this allows us, for instance, to mow each grass field using a conveyor for field edge clearance. We’re also particularly taken with the operation, which is clear and concise and very straightforward. Furthermore, many key functions can be assigned to the tractor’s joystick, which makes operation a great deal easier for the driver.”

Overall, a very positive experience for Jens Gustav Svengaard: “We are very satisfied, and would buy this machine again any time.”

Showing its best side.

Perfect combination.

Whether you own a mower combination, rear mower or trailed mower, CLAAS offers a suitable front mower for any model. Equipped with working widths of 3.00 or 3.40 metres, the patented PROFIL linkage geometry and ACTIVE FLOAT hydropneumatic suspension, these mowers deliver perfect results every time.

PROFIL – three-dimensional ground-contour following.

The PROFIL linkage geometry enables three-dimensional ground-contour following on mowers independent of the movement of the tractor. With a near-to-the-ground pivot point for lengthways adjustment, the mowing bar follows the ground contours effortlessly. This ensures a consistent chop quality and protects the grass cover, while facilitating higher mowing speeds.

37

ACTIVE FLOAT.

With ACTIVE FLOAT, the mower suspension can be adapted to current conditions at any time, from the comfort of the cab. This ensures the mower suspension is consistent at all times, independent of the position of the mower in relation to the tractor. This is made possible by large-volume pressure accumulators connected to two suspension cylinders. If conditions change, you simply readjust the pressure directly via a single-acting spool valve.

The results:• Optimised ground-contour following• Clean forage• Reduced power and fuel requirements• Low wear and tear• Higher working speeds

38

With optional conditioner.

DISCO front mowers come equipped with a tine or roller conditioner for a rapid crop-drying process. The conditioner, which spans the full working width of the mower, ensures the crop is conditioned consistently throughout.Adjustable swathing plates on models with a conditioner and adjustable swathing discs on machines without a conditioner adapt the swath width in line with the track width of the tractor. This prevents the freshly mown forage from being run over.

Crop flow.

A smooth crop flow is essential when it comes to achieving a high crop throughput. This is where mowing discs come in, with their high transfer power, enabling you to mow at maximum output at all times.

The ideal machine every time.

Rear mowers in the DISCO CONTOUR range combine the performance of the P-CUT mowing bar with ACTIVE FLOAT suspension. This configuration ensures optimal harvesting results and protection of the grass sward. With working widths of 2.60, 3.00, 3.40 and 3.80 metres, CLAAS has the perfect machine for any farm. For even faster harvesting, conditioner models with working widths of up to 3.40 metres are available.

ACTIVE FLOAT.

No two fields are alike – low-lying soft patches or dry hilltops are worlds apart. With ACTIVE FLOAT suspension, you can react to these quickly and effortlessly. The ground pressure of the mower can be regulated via a single-acting spool valve, even while on the go. The currently selected value can be read from the cab’s pressure gauge. Through the combination of ACTIVE FLOAT suspension and centrally hitched mower units, optimum results are produced every time, plus:

• Grass cover treated gently• Low wear and tear• Minimised side drift on slopes• Optimal ground-contour following

43

Top results for DISCO CONTOUR.

An independent test has demonstrated a considerable reduction in both fuel consumption and the foreign material content in forage using DISCO CONTOUR mowers, and the series has been duly awarded top marks in these respects. This is made possible through the combination of ACTIVE FLOAT suspension and P-CUT mowing bar.

The results:• 20 percent less fuel consumption through ACTIVE FLOAT• 16 percent less fuel consumption by reducing the PTO

shaft speed to 850 rpm• 17 percent less foreign material content in forage

44

Safe and secure on the road.

All DISCO CONTOUR series mowers are constructed with a 115°-inclined transport position. For transport, the mower is folded back with dampening and secured mechanically.

The benefits are clear:• An even load at the rear axle inhibits bouncing of the

mower unit while on the road• A reduced transport height enables the machine to

negotiate low structures• The driver enjoys an unobstructed view to the rear via the

rear-view mirrors

Experience in the field.

“... it’s superb on the road. In some other mowers that fold back, the overhang is too great, but the DISCO CONTOUR stays close to the tractor, and having the folding point over the centre of gravity keeps the mower right in line between the tractor’s mirrors. Having the weight carried centrally over the rear axle means everything stays well balanced, and the overall length is kept to a minimum, making it easy to negotiate narrow field entrances.”

Ian and Andrew Smith, Kilmaurs, Ayrshire, Scotland

45

Safe on the road.

Outsmart the weather.

To make your forage harvesting even more efficient, rear mowers in the DISCO CONTOUR series are also available with a conditioner. Tine conditioners with V-shaped, spirally arranged tines speed up the crop-drying process significantly, and also boast the largest working widths on the market at up to 3.40 metres. For the gentle conditioning of leafy crop types such as alfalfa, roller conditioners with working widths of up to 3.40 metres are available.

Mechanical breakback protection.

Mechanical breakback protection protects the mowing bar on DISCO CONTOUR mowers from rear collision damage. The 15° inclination of the linkage ensures the mower unit is carefully raised over the obstable encountered.

DISCO rear mowers – sheer dependability.

48

Plenty of power in the rear.

The choice is yours.

For its side-mounted rear mowers, CLAAS offers working widths of 2.60, 3.00 and 3.40 metres. Equipped with P-CUT mowing bar, these mowers also deliver top performance for a thoroughly successful forage harvest. Mowers are available with a tine or roller conditioner, depending on the model.

Continuous suspension.

Powerful coil springs provide the mower suspension. These transfer a proportion of the machine’s weight to the tractor. The arrangement of the springs ensures that the residual weight is distributed evenly across the full length of the mowing bar. The ground pressure can be adapted to the harvesting conditions without the need for tools. Dual pivot points ensure the mower follows ground contours faithfully, producing clean forage while preserving the grass cover.

DISCO 3450DISCO 3050DISCO 2650

49

Flexible drive.

The mower is driven via elastic V-belts, which cushion load peaks effectively and ensure a continuous power transfer.

Easily adjustable.

Adjustable mounting bolts enable the mower to be adapted to the respective tractor track width. This allows the mower's full working width to be used or a perfect overlap created in combination with a front mower. The mower is fitted with a spring-loaded swath disc to separate the swath from the standing forage. In tight turns, the swath disc moves to the side, preventing crop buildup.

Mechanical breakback protection.

Mechanical breakback protection, consisting of robust pawls and elastomers, effectively prevents damage to the mowing bar. Once the overload device is activated, simply lower the mower and back up briefly.

50

Conditioner.

To accelerate drying time during harvesting, the mowers are available with a tine conditioner with working widths up to 3.00 metres. For leafy crop types, the DISCO 2650 RC is available with a roller conditioner.

51

Quick off the mark.

Convenient transport.

With the pivot point situated well inside the track width, the mower is only slightly wider than the tractor. The centre of gravity is located close to the tractor for high road stability. Additionally, the inclination of the mowing bar towards the centre improves visibility to the rear. In the transport position, the mower is automatically secured mechanically.

Simple maintenance.

For ease of servicing, all of the mower's protective covers are foldable, giving easy access to all maintenance points.

55

Full use of the working width.

The combination of two single-acting rams enables the mower to be swung to either side via the central drawbar. The rams act as mechanical stops at each side to stabilise the mower unit, while hole positions further enable the mower to be adjusted to the track width of the tractor, allowing you to use the full working width at both sides.

With conditioner.

All trailed models come equipped as standard with a tine conditioner that spans the full working width. For leafy crop types such as alfalfa, a roller conditioner is available with a working width up to 3.40 metres. Swathing plates allow the swath width to be adapted to the track width of the tractor.

56

Convenient.

The desired chop height is infinitely variable between 30 and 70 mm via a crank handle at the front of the mower unit. To protect the mowing bar from rear-collision damage, all trailed mowers come equipped with breakback safety device with combined rear and upward action.

Practical.

The large-sized tyres ensure optimal ground protection in the field and sufficient stability over sloping ground and on the road, while permitting transport speeds of up to 40 km/h with a ground clearance of 50 cm.

57

Outstanding conveying quality.

Six metres in a single swath.

The DISCO 3100 TC AUTOSWATHER with swath-depositing belt enables you to deposit a 6.00-metre working width in a single, compact swath. In combination with a front mower, this full width can be achieved in a single pass, or, alternatively, two swaths can be laid side by side with an extended swathing plate.

For one large swath.

The cross conveyor is driven via an integrated onboard hydraulic power pack. The conveyor speed is infinitely variable via a separate control terminal. To prevent operating errors, the conveyor unit is activated and deactivated automatically when lowered and raised.
