Principal Post It is hard to believe that Term One has already come to an end! Firstly, I would like to thank the many members of the Mary Mac community, including our wonderful parish, who have made me feel so welcome. Having worked in seven other schools, I can assure you that your children are in a fantastic school. Not only is it very well resourced, it is also blessed with talented and dedicated staff members who put your children first in all that they do. There are so many positive aspects to this community which makes it easy to understand why you have chosen to send your children here. Please remember that my door is always open and if there is anything you would like to discuss with me, please do so. As I mentioned in the last couple of newsletters, we will be having our first day of Cooperative Learning professional development on the first day of next term (Monday 30 April). I have organised a parent information session for you at 6pm on Monday, 30 April in the School Hall so you can learn more about it, so please put it in your diary now. I will organise for a SMS message to be sent to you on that day to remind you as it may slip from your mind after the holidays. School resumes for the students on Tuesday, 1 May. I wish all families a safe and restful holiday period and I hope that you get to enjoy some quality time together. Yours sincerely Mr Laurie Bechelli PASSION PLAY 2018 I would like to say a massive thank you to the 49 students in Years 5 and 6 who participated in this year’s retelling of Christ’s Passion. They are to be congratulated on the way they told the story in such a reverent and emotive fashion. The play was performed in place of the Gospel at the Good Friday Service, in front of a very full church in extremely warm conditions. Thank you to all the children and their parents for giving up their time to be involved in what has become a significant Easter tradition at Mary MacKillop. The response was fantastic and we were able to send 19 care packages to the Department of Defence. A special thanks to the Year 6 Student Coordinators for helping to collect the items from the classrooms and packaging up the boxes. Also thanks to the Year 6 teachers in giving the students time in their busy classrooms to help out.
