THE VALE OF GLAMORGAN COUNCIL (SULLY ROAD, PENARTH (PART))(ROAD CLOSURE) AND PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO 11 PENARTH (PART)
(FOOTPATH CLOSURE) (TEMPORARY) ORDER 2014On the 10th April 2014 the Vale of Glamorgan Council in exercise of its powersunder Section 14 of the Road Trafic Regulation Act 1984 and of all otherenabling powers made an Order the general effect of which is as described inthe Schedules below.
The Order will come into operation on the 14th April 2014 or on the date that thenecessary Trafic Signs are in place whichever is the later and a copy of the Ordermay be seen at the address shown below during normal ofice hours.
If youwish to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained thereinon the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the above Act oron the grounds that any requirement of the same or that any instrument madeunder it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within sixweeks from the 14th April 2014 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
SCHEDULE 11. No person shall cause or permit a motor vehicle to travel in the location
speciied in Schedule 2 below.
SCHEDULE 2
Location The area of road to be affected is Sully Road between its junctionswith Norris Close and Meadowside
Reason To allow essential road improvements to be undertaken, togetherwith drainage, streetlighting and associated works.
Duration From 6.00am on Monday 14 April 2014, for a maximum period of 18 months
The closure will be implemented for the minimum possible timerequired to allow the above work to take place. It is anticipated thatthis work will be completed in two stages, the irst of these closureswill be carried out during school Easter holidays (though it isintended to open the road over Easter Bank Holiday weekend) . Withthe second closure taking place during school Summer holidays.
Alt Route Diversions during the above closures shall be in place via theremaining open sections of Sully Road, Swanbridge Road,Lavernock Road and Redlands Road.
NB: Pedestrian, cycle and equestrian access cannot be maintainedalong Sully Road while these closures are in place.
A diversion for pedestrians shall be available via Norris Close, Redlands Road,St Cyres Road and the Public Right of Way known as Penarth Footpath No 11
SCHEDLE 3
2. No person shall proceed on foot in the location speciied in Schedule 4 below.
SCHEDULE 4
Location Footpath (Public Right of Way) known as Penarth Number 11, willbe closed from its junction with Sully Road in a generally northeasterly direction to its junction with St Cyres Road, a distance ofapproximately 300m.
Alt. Route The diversion for this footpath shall be via a temporary footpathconstructed a sort distance to the north of the closed footway
Reason To allow footpath improvements to be undertaken.
Duration From 6.00am on Monday 14 April 2014, for a maximum period of6 months.
Closure will only be implemented for the minimum possible timerequired to carry out improvement work along this lane.
