Rules and Regulations1. That the Show be open to all comers, except where otherwise specified.
2. That all stock must be in the possession of the Exhibitors not later than date of entry and must be their bona fide property.
3. That all stock to be shown shall be entered with the Secretary, and not later than the closing date. Membership and Entry Money must be paid not later than Show day.
4. All Stock must be on the ground before 9am, and no Stock will be allowed to leave the ground before 3.30pm without a pass from the Secretary.
5. Cattle over one year old must be secured by a ring or screw in the nose, and a chain or rope attached.
6. Cows, in calf, if calved after entry is made, will be transferred to class or classes in milk.
7. All cattle must have a ‘negative’ herd status for BVD or be individually tested negative for the BVD virus. Certificates must be sent in with entry forms.
8. All sheep must comply with the rules pertaining to the Scrapie Monitoring Scheme with respect to an approved, unsegregated sheep show.
9. All female sheep must be non-pregnant (empty), have not lambed within 30 days prior to entry to the show and not subject to procedures which change the seasonal breeding pattern.
10. Dogs must have a suitable collar and chain attached.
11. Exhibitors who have entered Stock and fail to exhibit shall forfeit the Entry Money of the same.
12. All Stock must have been free of infectious or contagious disease for two months previous to the date of the show.
13. In no case shall a prize be awarded unless the Judges deem the Stock of sufficient merit, more especially if only one lot competes for the prize.
14. First and second prize animals to be placed before the Judge for championships as necessary.
15. In all cases and in all matters the decisions of the Judges shall be final.
16. The Show Committee reserve the power to appoint a Judge in the absence of any Judge officially stated.
17. All Exhibition Numbers, other than Sheep Classes, must be prominently displayed until the close of the Show, otherwise prizes will be withheld.
18. The Society will not be responsible for any accident which may happen to Stock or implements at the Show.
19. The Society will not be responsible for any injury to, or loss sustained by, any Stock sent to their Show.
20. All Trophies are the property of the Society, and tenable for one year only. Winners will sign a receipt upon receiving them, and be responsible for their safe return on or before 31st July of the following year.
21. Protests must be lodged with the Secretary, in writing, on the day of the Show no later than 30 minutes following the judging of the relevant section and must be accompanied by a deposit of a sum equivalent to four times the cost of Membership of the Society current at the time. All parties lodging a protest must attend at the Show Committee Room at 4pm on the afternoon of the Show. All protests will then be considered and adjudicated upon by the President’s Committee and the relevant Show Stewards. This Rule will be literally and strictly enforced, and all entries are accepted only on the express condition that the Exhibitor binds himself or herself to accept the decision of the President’s Committee and the relevant Show Stewards as final and binding upon him or her. If a protest shall not be sustained the deposit shall be forfeited, and go to the general funds of the Society.
Note* Led cattle and horses are to be paraded.* Exhibitors not turning out their Stock are liable to forfeit any Prizes gained.* All Cattle must be tied in their allotted stalls by 10am, and must not leave until after Parade, except for judging.* All Entries must comply with Orders and Regulations Under Diseases of Animal Acts current at the time of the Show.
