F or everyone around the world, 2020 was an unexpected year of challenges
brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. For us here in Malaysia and also at the AEON Foundation, it was also a difficult year responding to the many more communities in need with reduced and limited resources. Despite not being able to source funds the way we had done in the past, we thank the AEON business community for readily responding to our needs and also to the Malaysian public for their coin donations from across the AEON outlets throughout the country.
From these funds, we were able to support the healthcare workers and families in the hard-hit entertainment, aviation and hospitality industries through the Bersama AEON homebox project and continue our traditional AEON Mesra programmes not by inviting the children to shop at our malls as we did in the past. Instead we continued with our festive cheer programmes by
