On 7 December 2013 at our Sholapur site Mr. Gautam Chattopadhyay, Design Engineer, suffered a heart attack
during late hours. In the absence of his family, his neighbour, Mr. Nur Alam, Pavement Specialist from Bangladesh,
took his SOS call and became savior of the situation thereon. From arranging a doctor and emergent admission in the
hospital onwards, he took upon himself complete responsibility of Mr. Gautam's care and treatment. He spent the
whole night at the hospital and took all critical decisions regarding Mr. Chattopadhyay's treatment. He did not hesitate
in either signing the hospital documents or in depositing money from his pocket for various tests and medicines. He
was with Mr. Chattopadhyay till his Angioplasty was carried out and his family joined. Mr. Nur Alam has set a unique
example of compassion and “ ”, a devotional practice of serving God, for all of us to emulate ! Well done
Mr. NurAlam. We salute you for what you did !! May God bless you !!

EDITOR'S DESK
Year 2013 has been a year of challenges with global economic recession having impacted almost all the countries
including India.
In this competitive market, we must learn to develop and strengthen Client relationship, improve our skills through
self-learning, multiskilling and self-improvement and manage the projects effectively. If we want to survive and
achieve our vision, we have to work as a cohesive team, maintain quality and stick to the planned schedule.
In an era of specialization, it is necessary to have a multi-skilled workforce. From the perspective of the employees,
multi-tasking would allow them to diversify as their scope of work gets widened, resulting in achieving higher level
of motivation.
We have commenced Consultancy Services in 2013 in five new African countries, viz. Benin, Rwanda, Senegal,

ICT family needs to be congratulated for generous donations for natural calamity in Uttarakhand last year. Instead
of donating the money to Central or State Government, ICT decided to utilize the money for certain specific
projects. In collaboration with International Association of Human Values and the Art of Living Foundation, ICT has
adopted a school in village Phata in Rudraprayag District for orphans and deprived children. Also a 100 m span
ropeway with trolleys across river Alaknanda is under construction at Village Bhagwan for immediate connectivity
and accessibility of nearby residents.
IRF has taken an initiative and started a drive w.e.f 26 December 2013 in Delhi of fixing retro-reflective tapes on
bicycles, free of cost, to make bicycles conspicuous during the night, to enable bring down the accidents. The
success of this exercise in Delhi will be replicated in other States also. Cost of fixing retro-reflective tapes on one
bicycle is 25/-. The ICTians should come forward and contribute generously for this noble cause.
We still find that a few of the staff members suffer from the ego problem. Ego – an exaggerated problem of self-
