Hence, on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of statehood of Maharashtra, Dr Anil Kakodkar, Dr Vasant Gowariker, Dr Raghunath Mashelkar, Dr Vijay Bhatkar, Dr Yeshwant Waghmare and many more eminent scientists co created a movement called Global Indian Scientists & Technocrats Convention GIST.

Today Vijnana Bharati has spread its wings in 20 states and has 28 operating units.Maharashtra has four units in Mumbai, Pune & Nagpur & Aurangabad.
Maharashtra Education Society (MES), one of the oldest educational institutes in Maharashtra is completing its 150 years of formation and hence is celebrating the post centenary Golden Jubilee celebrations.
They have 38 schools and colleges in Maharashtra and have more than 40,000 students studying.
